We had a great time, lovely people, great building, biggest spoon I've ever seen.
I will be happy to visit again maybe for their Christmas Market
Stunning venue in the heart of our city. Perfect for large seminars, elegant weddings and other celebrations. Helpful team at your disposal - thoroughly recommended.
Salisbury city Council people did a fantastic job at such short notice. The event was well run and everyone was friendly. Thank you for a lovely day.
My wife and I live in Warminster and love to visit Salisbury to, not only shop, but to visit the numerous interesting historic sights.
We noticed that the Guildhall was open for Public Viewing and could not miss this chance.
After being given the ok by the reception staff to 'roam around and take pics' we enjoyed a self guided tour of all the rooms that was open to the public and had a great time.
From the Foyer we made our way up the beautiful staircase to the 'Oak Court' which was a beautiful room and a replica of the Old Bailey in London...
...from here we made our way downstairs to the cell which were four in total where the prisoners of the Court would have been imprisoned...
...onwards upstairs to visit more beautiful rooms such as, The Crown Court, The Grand Jury Room, the Banqueting Hall, all with a great variety of interesting exhibits far too many to list here.
There were guides available to give a personal tour to those who wished this, all in all we thank the City of Salisbury and the staff of the Guildhall for their permission to view this beautiful building and to be able to absorb the history that was contained within this beautiful building, all Free of Charge.
Many thanks Salisbury, we look forward to the next open day to build upon our recent visit.
Just booked the banqueting hall for my 50th birthday next year , absolutely stunning and Julia has been a great help with my booking , looking forward to my party
Excellent afternoon at the Gin festival, met some lovely people from a village close to Stonehenge and ?? Southampton. Rain and lots of sunshine, everyone was happy to try everyone's drinks, gosh knows how many gins we tried. Out with the blisters to make up for January birthday.
Came to The Guildhall for a guided tour as part of Salisbury Heritage Open Days. Although I've previously visited the Banqueting Hall for functions involving foreign students, I've never before visited the Oak Court. We had a very informed and informative guide who explained that the Oak Court is a replica of the Old Bailey and, as such, is sometimes called into use as a film set for trials held in the Old Bailey. It was fascinating to be able to walk through the tunnel from the Oak Court to the cells, and get some sort of feel for how a convict might feel when taking this path. It is well worth a visit
