As key workers during the COVID-19 crisis, the safety and wellbeing of our employees and customers has always been, and will continue to be, our top priority.
It’s of paramount importance to us that we ensure our employees, who are working above and beyond so our customers can continue to receive supplies as usual, are safe and well.
In light of the current situation, many of us are experiencing shortages of various different products. Here at Salts, our Principle Skin Healt...h Research Scientist has now taken matters into her own hands. Amanda has successfully produced in-house hand sanitiser that has been distributed between our sites, and she is currently working on a hand sanitising gel that can be packaged and sent out to our remote workers and teams too. Great work, Amanda!

Bowel cancer is the UK’s second-biggest cancer killer, but it doesn’t need to be this way. It’s treatable and curable especially if diagnosed early. That's why we're supporting Bowel Cancer UK and Bowel Cancer Awareness Month over April.
Take a listen to our latest 'Me, My Bag and I' podcast, which this month is all about bowel cancer and living with a stoma.

Here at Salts Healthcare, we want to do everything in our power to help the NHS efforts in the battle against the coronavirus.
As you know, there has been a recent call from the Government for all nurses in non-patient facing roles to join the frontline, along with any retired NHS employees or people who have left the health service.
Our Nurse, Research & Development and Clinical Marketing teams are supporting our NHS colleagues in the community and in the Acute Trusts, offe...ring additional support to them where we can and where required.
From all of us here at Salts, we want to extend a big thank you to all of our incredible #NHS workforce during this unprecedented time, and of course, thank you to all of our nurses at Salts Healthcare and Salts Medilink. 💙

📣We have some news to share... today we've launched our NEW MedilinkⓇ Stay Connected Support Service! 🙌
We've set up this service to provide a friendly chat to those who are currently self-isolating, due to the coronavirus situation, and living alone without anyone to talk to.
If you are self-isolating in the UK, have a stoma and/or a continence condition and would like someone to speak to, simply register on our website. One of our friendly Customer Care team members, made u...p of dedicated and experienced volunteers from our wider workforce, will then call you back on a weekday between 9am to 4pm.
You do not need to be a Medilink® customer to access the service and you can also register on behalf of a family member who has a stoma or continence condition.
If you are a Medilink® customer and wish to speak to someone about your order, please contact your local Medilink® Dispensing Care Centre as usual.
Follow the link to our MedilinkⓇ website for the full details and to register.

"I think our surgeries have all actually given us opportunities that we might not have had previously. I know that's quite hard for maybe somebody listening to this, to think that surgery can offer other opportunities and open other doors." - says Elizabeth for our recent 'Me, My Bag and I' podcast.

It's amazing to see the fantastic initiatives people have set up to support the battle against the coronavirus.
For The Love Of Scrubs - Our NHS Needs You, is a group that's bringing people together to raise funds and get sewing to support additional scrubs to frontline works in our hospitals.
Kathrine Londesbrough is one individual who's gathered together her local sewing group members to make scrubs to send to their nearby hospital. Follow the link to find out more about their superb efforts.

"I think I'm much happier, having said, 'Okay, that was really good, but rather than focus on the negative of what you can't do every day, go and do something else, learn something new.' " - says Chrissie, as she reflects on her experience of changing careers following her stoma surgery during our latest podcast.

We are supporting the #clapforourcarers movement and we want to share how you too can take part tonight!
Amongst the concern the coronavirus crisis has initiated, we’re seeing more and more acts of kindness being demonstrated across communities. A movement you may have seen taking place in European countries, including Spain, France and Italy is Clap for our Carers.
People in the UK are being encouraged to take part this evening, at 8pm, in a huge round of applause to show t...heir appreciation for those working in the NHS - the doctors, nurses, carers, GPs, pharmacists and countless other NHS staff - to help those affected by the coronavirus.
If you’d like to spread a bit of positivity and show your thanks, please join in and clap from your gardens, front doors, windows or balconies this evening at 8pm! 👏👏

"Like you said, be kind to yourself, and cut yourself some slack, because it's your body and your mind..." "Ask for help, because a lot of people will bog it up, not talk about it, and just hold it away from everybody, but you need sort of let people in as well." - great advice shared by Paige during our latest 'Me, My Bag and I' podcast episode.

Each year over 2,500 younger people are diagnosed with bowel cancer in the UK. While this is only around six per cent of all cases, this number is slowly increasing, according to Bowel Cancer UK. The charity's campaign #NeverTooYoung aims to educate medical staff and improve early diagnosis.
