Celebrating our 6th birthday here at Salty Holidays this week. 🎂🍰 🎉
The apartments have all changed so much over the years, we have a great team here keeping the place looking tip top and we have met some wonderful people staying here, many of them coming back year after year. I don’t know how many times we’ve crossed the Solent, but it’s a lot and I still get excited getting on that ferry!
6 years on and I absolutely never tire of waking up to that view 😍

A few last minute changes for some of our guests mean we suddenly have the following gaps in our self catering apartments right in the school holidays:
- 18th - 28th July in apt 6 - Driftwood (Sea view apartment, sleeps 4, £775 per week or £900 for 10 days) - 29th July - 5th Aug in apt 3 - Seashell (3 bedrooms, sleeps 7, £850 per week) 12th - 19th Aug in apt 3 - Seashell (3 bedrooms, sleeps 7, £950 per week)

What am I missing? We are having our emptiest week since February and the whole town feels very quiet. Such a shame when the weather is just soooo gorgeous.
Meanwhile I am loving gardening in the sunshine. This jasmine smells divine!

Sat 30th June - 7th July in Apt 4 - Pebble with sea view and balcony only £500 per week (usually £600)
Mon 2nd - Sat 7th July in apt 6 - Driftwood with sea view only £75 per night (usually £100)
... Sun 22nd July - Sun 5th August in apt 3 - Seashell which sleeps 7 in 3 bedrooms £950 per week.
Also 12th - 19th August in apt 3 - seashell £950 per week.
Forecast is gorgeous 😎. Sea is warming up nicely. The island is looking beautiful and our sea views are looking stunning!

A new planning application for the Gaiety amusements has been submitted.
This replaces the previous application to build 7 flats on the site that was approved in 2015. Work never started and its all looking pretty sad and dilapidated now.
This new plan is to create a house from the existing structure, so effectively going back to the original shape of the theatre and re-creating a house from the current footprint.

We think this will be great as we will keep all of our wonderful sea view and in fact it will improve it enormously as the current structure is an eyesore. We're also pleased as it was such an iconic structure, so it would be great to restore to its former glory, even if it will be a private residence rather than a public building. Comments on the planning application need to be submitted by 6/7/18. Be interested to know what you think!

Ventnor is one of the UK’s 10 best seaside towns say the Guardian - and we would have to agree!

Did I mention how much we LOVE the smoking lobster restaurant on the esplanade at the bottom of our garden 😍

Some of our guests enjoyed a lovely massage today from mobile therapist Louise Aitkin. She set up her massage table in Driftwood apartment so they could watch the sea and listen to the waves.

Thunderbolts and lightening last night, quite exciting for us but the dog didn’t think so!!

What a beautiful early walk on the beach with Derek this morning!
We are full this weekend, but we have availability in both apt 4 - pebble, and 3 - seashell from Monday if anyone fancies a last minute break.
Also 12th - 19th May is still available in apt 5 - waves for only £425 (Dog friendly sea view balcony apartment.)

Woo hoo. Suns out and The Crab Shed has reopened for the season. Another happy trip to Steephill Cove.

This is the holiday all other holidays will be compared with! We have enjoyed the stunning view, the wonderful city and it's friendly people. We will be back!

Second visit here, we love it, the location is excellent, the apartment immaculate, every thing you need is here. Lots of good places to eat and drink within walking distance.

Second time at the marina apartment's ,,and still clean and fresh with spectacular views ,,after the last twenty years of coming too ventnor ,,in static caravans and flats these are by far the best and will be back ,,well done dawn and guy hope to see you soon

Just returned from a lovely relaxing break. Stayed several times now and it just keeps getting better. You can't beat the sea views and the sound of the waves breaking. Apartment is lovely with lots of seaside ornaments and great facilities. Highly recommended for families and couples. Some lovely places to eat and Steeple Hill Cove is definitely worth a visit. �

Just got back from a great week staying in Pebbles. Well equipped, comfortable apartment with fantastic views. Will certainly come back and recommend to others.

Just got back from a Easter Bank holiday break with family, great apartments and brilliant seaviews. Will definitely be returning and would recommend to friends and family.

Just back from a lovely stay in the 'driftwood' apartment. As soon as we walked into the apartment my son (who is only 7!) Commented on how lovely and clean the apartment was. He was also very impressed that he could have a cup of tea and a box of chocolate fingers (waiting for us when we arrived) after our long journey from sheffield it was much needed! The views from the apartment are absolutely stunning and the apartment itself is very comfortable and well equipped. . We really couldn't find a fault!

Thankyou so much for making our first holiday as a family of 4 so perfect! �

Have now had 2 holidays in these lovely apartments and we shall be returning again next year! We stayed in apt 4 both times because the view is so gorgeous. And the location! So handy, esp for our favourites the paddling pool, the beach, the spyglass inn, fish and chips on the pier and slightly more boringly the Co op! Would definitely recommend.

Have just left today & was very sad to leave. This was our 3rd visit to the apartments & as always were very comfortable & very clean, but most of all a very friendly welcome. Would most definitely recommend whether you are a couple looking for a relaxing break or a family looking for fun & adventure.
