What a fantastic place right on the beach. I had the Paella which was full of flavour and a generous portion. One of those dishes you wish it didn't end. The service was very good with happy staff. Defiantly worth the 5 stars.

Sam on the Beach. Brillant and exceptional food and service. Freindly staff and very welcoming.. highly recommend going there to anyone who loves sea food and more. Idyllic location on the South coast and delightful beach to stroll along after a fantastic lunch..

Met some friends for the first time here. Stayed outside all evening on the benches watching the sun set. They offer table service or bar service. Menu was fantastic. I had the vegan option pizza on gluten free base and it was the best I've ever had. Base was tasty, toppings were plentiful. So happy. X

Lovely quiet lunch here today and the sun shone for us. Feeling guilty after the Bocca Sharer Sundae ! It was delicious. Fresh and tasty food. Highly recommend.

Normally grab a bite outside in the summer, but last night we had an amazing (without the kids ÔŅĹ) meal. I‚Äôm not a fan of fish (awful I know!!) but the salmon carbonara was beautiful ÔŅĹ

It was a very busy Sunday as the weather was very hot. I walked in hoping for a table inside as I hate sitting outside to eat. I was told all the tables were booked but luckily for me as I asked an inside table became free as other customers decided to move outside.

Food is excellent. I couldn’t fault it. Good sized portions and well priced. The menu is interesting too so there are plenty of choices. I had a pint of Sams pilsner which was very refreshing in the heat.

I think the staff have exceptional patience. I heard a number of customers challenging staff about wanting to move tables and when they were refused because tables were already booked (they already had a table by the way)the customers were rude to the staff yet the staff remained calm and polite in the face of it.

The staff had clearly worked a long hard day in that restaurant only to be met by some inappropriately rude customers. They dealt with it very well.

The layout inside is tight but that’s because it’s an old boathouse. Long and narrow. The building has some character though.

My only little niggle because of the lack of space is that my wife’s chair was continuously being knocked by other customers trying to squeeze past. Not a major issue but it would have been helped if those customers had maybe acknowledged it in some way. The staff managed to avoid doing this but that’s because they clearly know the place much better

Overall I would eat here again if back in the area.

Book a table if going at the weekend though and maybe select a table at the bar end to avoid being in the sun as there are large windows looking out into the beach and you might get hot sitting there!

Great atmosphere, great food, great staff! On top of this you have an amazing view! ūüĎć

Been coming here for years as well as the sister restaurant in Fowey. It never disappoints and the seafood is always so fresh. We drive straight from London to Sam’s on the beach for lunch every trip to Cornwall as a start to our holiday which is our family tradition and it is consistently good. We will often pop in a couple more times over the course of the vacation to both restaurants as the guarantee of great service and great quality food with a warm welcome is hard to beat! Being in the industry myself, I appreciate how hard consistency is, so this is no mean feat.. well done to the teams and we’ll see you shortly!

Amazing in sunny weather, great food, great service, great setting! They do their own lager in 2 pint steins too. The backs right onto the beach too which is lovely! Car park just up the road which starts charging at 6 and a very short walk away so use this. Perfect, can't recommend this place highly enough.

Amazing food. Staff were very nice and accommodating as we had a our son sit in his buggy at the table. Will definitely be coming back and would highly recommend.

Amazing food yesterday when I was here with family the sardines for starters out of this world and the roasted skate wing was delicious.

Although the service I felt was poor, the food was lovely. I had the Pizza Calzone and the Wife had Seafood Spaghetti. Both very tasty. It's just a shame the bar man and waitress were so offish. It wouldn't stop me going back, but it was a shame.

Somewhere we pass frequently and wanted to give it a try for a while now. We have Walked in before but clear you needed to book as it’s always busy.(Good Sign)

We left it for our anniversary and yesterday we took our kayak from down the coast and arriving in styleūüė¨ at Polkerris for lunch. My wife had a salad and she was pleased with it, I chose the belly pork and was left Unsatisfied. Fast service is a bonus but not when you order something that should be cooked right.

It Seemed like it was just heated up and the crackling not fresh. Too dry no flavour. And £2 more expensive in house than the advertised online menu I must add.



Sams motto being the three ingredients that make them successful and one their excellent staff. From the theee that did serve us 2 were very attentive but the young lad showing people to table was a right misery.

I had been looking forward to visit Sams on the beach, so one rainy day we managed to get a table (an hour wait but was happy with that). There were 2 adults and 2 kids and we decided to share a couple of starters - the muscles were lovely plump and flavoursome, the prawns ok but nothing special. Each starter came with one tiny slice of bread which for £9 was a bit mean and they knew we were sharing - I asked for more bread - which I was charged £2 + for - 4 tiny slices and was not informed we would be charged. Drinks - ordered a glass of Sauvignon which said £7 - when it came it was 175ml which makes it mighty expensive glass and they had not stated size in menu. We ordered 2 pizzas and a kids pizza for main, nice crisp base but again nothing very special and again not worth the price tag- of £14, the total bill was £64 for 2 x starter, 2 x pizza, 1 x kid pizza and a v small portion of fries plus 1 beer and 1 wine - overall nice location, slightly stand off-ish staff and v overpriced for ok food. Would I go again - probably not to be fair pizza Express do just as good a job!

Have visited Sams before (several times!) and had amazing food and great service, so yesterday, on the last day of our holiday in Cornwall we returned, for lunch. Food I would say was average... ‚Äėhalf pint of prawns‚Äô this time was really disappointing compared to their times... very small prawns, and hard to shell... pizza was average, and meatballs spaghetti tasted like spaghetti hoops...

Really a shame the food was a disappointment, as the setting is, I would say, one of the best in the world!

Also, felt like the exterior of the building now really needs a bit of a spruce up.... it’s looking a bit rusty, weather battered & tired...

Sorry Sams, always been a huge fan, but this time it just didn’t cut it...!

We left it for our anniversary and yesterday we took our kayak from down the coast and arriving in styleūüė¨ at Polkerris for lunch. My wife had a salad and she was pleased with it, I chose the belly pork and was left Unsatisfied. Fast service is a bonus but not when you order something that should be cooked right.

It Seemed like it was just heated up and the crackling not fresh. Too dry no flavour. And £2 more expensive in house than the advertised online menu I must add.



Sams motto being the three ingredients that make them successful and one their excellent staff. From the theee that did serve us 2 were very attentive but the young lad showing people to table was a right misery.



Great location, beautiful inside and a cool place to eat

I had been looking forward to visit Sams on the beach, so one rainy day we managed to get a table (an hour wait but was happy with that). There were 2 adults and 2 kids and we decided to share a couple of starters - the muscles were lovely plump and flavoursome, the prawns ok but nothing special. Each starter came with one tiny slice of bread which for £9 was a bit mean and they knew we were sharing - I asked for more bread - which I was charged £2 + for - 4 tiny slices and was not informed we would be charged. Drinks - ordered a glass of Sauvignon which said £7 - when it came it was 175ml which makes it mighty expensive glass and they had not stated size in menu. We ordered 2 pizzas and a kids pizza for main, nice crisp base but again nothing very special and again not worth the price tag- of £14, the total bill was £64 for 2 x starter, 2 x pizza, 1 x kid pizza and a v small portion of fries plus 1 beer and 1 wine - overall nice location, slightly stand off-ish staff and v overpriced for ok food. Would I go again - probably not to be fair pizza Express do just as good a job!

Have visited Sams before (several times!) and had amazing food and great service, so yesterday, on the last day of our holiday in Cornwall we returned, for lunch. Food I would say was average... ‚Äėhalf pint of prawns‚Äô this time was really disappointing compared to their times... very small prawns, and hard to shell... pizza was average, and meatballs spaghetti tasted like spaghetti hoops...

Really a shame the food was a disappointment, as the setting is, I would say, one of the best in the world!

Also, felt like the exterior of the building now really needs a bit of a spruce up.... it’s looking a bit rusty, weather battered & tired...

Sorry Sams, always been a huge fan, but this time it just didn’t cut it...!
