We recently had a birthday party in The Terrace Suite, Nicole the events manager kept us in the loop with the arrangements leading up to the event and on the night all the staff were amazing, friendly, professional & polite. Tom who was making the cocktails was fantastic. All our guests enjoyed themselves and loved the venue. I highly recommend the Sands Hotel for an event. We also stayed overnight in a town view room which was very nice and a good breakfast selection.

We have eaten in the lovely restaurant, food was delicious. The bar area is great with fab service! It’s a beautiful setting too.

Well worth a visit.

We got married in the area last week and along with our families, stayed at the sands after. Can’t sing its praises enough. The food was great and the rooms are just beautiful. Staff were all very attentive and helpful and cannot thank the manager enough, she was so helpful from the moment of Just looking around to the wedding day itself and the morning after. She was constantly in touch and helped to organise all aspects of our stay. We will definitely be staying again!!

We booked for a special Sunday lunch to celebrate two generations sharing a birthday. We have a member of the party who has special needs with very particular dietary requirements, so called ahead to make sure the Sands were able to accommodate them. They couldn’t have been more helpful or reassuring and made me feel like nothing was a problem. And they didn’t disappoint. The food and service were outstanding, and the hard to please member of our party gave it 10/10. Thank you, we will definitely be back.

Visited today for afternoon tea. Staff were very accommodating and were more than happy to add a few extra touches to make my Mums birthday treat truly special.



Food was delicious, lovely selection of teas. Sandwiches were light and delicious and my mum said the scones were better than the Ritz! (And I agree!)



All topped off with a truly enchanting view, breathtaking �

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here at the Sands. Staff were very friendly and attentive. The food was excellent and the views of the sunset from the restaurant were spectacular. Beds and rooms are clean and comfortable. Only wish we could stay longer.

This is the most beautiful venue. We had a birthday lunch. The staff were so helpful without over doing it. On arrival we had a drink at the attractive bar.

The restaurant enjoys beautiful views across Margate's lovely beach.

The menu is good and prepared to order. So nicely presented.

The wine list is extensive but we were so pleased to find out favourite producers Chappeldown well represented and reasonably priced.

I hope to go back again very soon maybe a girls afternoon to sample Afternoon Tea and although I live not too far away maybe an overnighter...who knows eh?

The staff are so friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Excellent food and the rooms are fantastic. Second stay and definitely not the last. First class 😁

Stunning, we had a view over the Margate harbour from the second floor. Its so lovely even in the winter. We also love the afternoon tea on the balcony in the summer. The best vegetarian breakfast I have ever eaten and I must add my partner said the same about his full English breakfast. How could it be bettered??? perhaps another stay its an absolute must

Stayed here for a night away with my partner for my birthday. Can’t fault it. Amazing room, lovely bubble bath and walk in shower perfect for a relaxing evening. Staff were lovely. Breakfast was amazing and a great way to end our stay. Will definitely return next time we want a chilled night away.

My sister & I were given a real treat today a visit to this beautiful hotel for a generous cream tea from moment we walked in there were courteous smiles & attention to our needs from the hotel staff & the ambiance was busy friendly & the decor impressive our table was overlooking the beautiful Margate sands & our cream tea catered specifically to requests made before arrival & checked as correct when seated. All in all a luxury tea experience that I would like to repeat & recommend to anyone wanting to spoil themselves or friends & family. The Sands Hotel was as impressive as I'd been promised!

Absolutely stunning hotel, my place of choice every time to sit and watch the glorious sunsets! Stayed here for my 30th Birthday and cannot wait to stay again!

We love this Hotel. The rooms are spacious, elegant and stylish and the food and service are really good too. It makes us for the rest of Margate, although the nearby Turner Gallery is worth a visit too.

We have now stayed at this hotel twice, once on our wedding night in 2015 and once for our anniversary last night. The rooms are beautiful as always, clean and classy. Husband found the bed uncomfortable but I slept well. Only criticism is that we could not fathom the underfloor hearing in the bathroom and that there was a minor draft from the balcony doors and some street noise could still be heard. Overall a very pleasant get away and we will be returning I’m sure!

Was given a voucher did my birthday we had the set lunch. It was a lovely day so sat by the window overlooking the sea. It was lovely, the food was very good and good value, the staff were very friendly and professional. The only downside is that the food could have been hotter

Was given a gift of afternoon tea for two . The place is beautiful and the staff were attentive and nice. Food was faultless.

Shame about the huge drunken office party in with us. We had to talk loudly to hear each other on a table for 2 .

Secret Santa gifts had them all screaming and one bloke put on his speedos over his trousers next to us and did a downward dog while his friends howled and took photos while shouting "look at his arse" . Not quite the elegant afternoon tea vibe we had hoped for so had our cakes boxed up and left ! Shame � There were 3 ladies on the next table having he champagne afternoon tea and they were unhappy too . check to see if there are any big parties in before you book .
