Great place. Friendly environment where you are able to enjoy yourself and succeed in your chosen study. This wasnt my first choice of college but after browsing and going to different interviews i decided this was the best place for me. I recommend people to apply here all the time if they ask me about college. I feel very comfortable there

This is a great college the lecturers are very good they are always making sure you understand the task so you can always achieve the highest grade. Great environment for people to study and meet new people. I studied public services at this college along with doing the DofE. I enjoyed my times at Sandwell College and doing my Duke of Edinburgh here aswell!

Studied business, after the first 2 months the tutor's couldn't care what you do. Unless your attendance drops so they lose their funding.

Worst college ever!
Did a pharmacy diploma that was meant to last 2 years, and finished just after 3 years, no support/communication from staff and classes are cancelled without any notifications!
It has been a year since the course was completed and they are still chasing up certificates, this caused me to lose my job and further job opportunities!
They are very unreliable and rude and the pharmacy team are VERY unorganised!
I would not recommend this college or course to anyone!

I was a bit dubious about enrolling at Sandwell college after the troubles it had in the 1990's which resulted in over 100 staff being dismissed when I was last their, but I enrolled on an ITQ course after being told the course had a 100% success rate. During the course I received no help from the tutors and learned nothing. I asked to speak to a manager about this without any success. When I started the assessment, the tutor literally completed mine and all the other student's assessments for them (explaining the 100% pass rate). I and other students asked to speak to the manager or Vice Principle and we were promised a meeting which never happened. Very disappointed in Sandwell college that has changed it's buildings but not it's ethos. Avoid.

How to survive in Sandwell College:
1) Don't bother showing up for Open Days:
- You see, Sandwell College is really small, like too small to breath! You'll see too many people crumbled in the visitor's area, it'll look like an sweaty, smelly, sore orgy. Besides, it's likely they'll send you to the Sport Hall, to get there is a maze and the directions they give you, absolutely marvellous /// SARCASM!

2) DO NOT nick someone's pen:
- This is optional, but to be on the safe side, do not steal pens from anyone in this college. Remember, this in 2017, people are too sensitive, they will force you to apologise during an on-going lesson.

3) Forgot your card, no problem:
- Since you're a human being, there is a high probability you'll forget your card. Scratch that, you WILL forget your card one day. Now, Sandwell is greedy, they will make you pay £1 for a temporary pass sticker. Every time, they ask you to pay just ask them "You have to pay?"

4) How to get girls:
- Now now, don't be misled by the title... Sandwell girls are not for you, unless, of course, if you like to be accused of rape and beaten up by her side men and be misjudged and have your life ruined. Want a girlfriend? Sandwell college is not a whorehouse.

5) If you need to be alone, 5th Floor:
- 5th Floor is possibly the nicest thing about this college, since it's a floor dedicated to female specific courses, the floor always smells nice and it's quiet. Not fit to get a girlfriend, though.

6)Toilets are cleans, not when students are there:
- I'll tell you this, the cleaners do a fantastic job, but student here do not have the most common decency, it's like they were raised in a pigsty! If you can avoid using the toilets here, do so. Go to McDonald's or Subway, not too far.

7) Sandwell gives you freebies, but they won't tell you:
- If you need Office 365, Sandwell will give you one, but they will mostly never tell you. So, head over to the Virtual College of Sandwell, Log In and under Student Information, there should be a option called FREE SOFTWARE!!! Though beware, the Virtual College is glitchy and doesn't work most of the time. Sometimes they change things, so don't expect this to last long!

8) BTEC Teachers are whack and unfair:
- This is more of a complaint, what's going to happen to you is that teachers will give you an assignment and the content you are marked for, is stuff you were not taught. Example, they might ask you to describe a pulse motor, but the internet doesn't know what a pulse motor is, nor it was ever mentioned in class. So, if you have problems understanding the assignment, ask they personally (in person, not through email) and if you don't understand, ask again! Them have to explain it to you, it's their duty, you're not in university yet.

9) The elevators have a strong tendency to malfunction:
- This one is definitely my favourite, do you know how often the elevators malfunction in Sandwell? 6 out of 10 times, that's more than half, but if you're as lucky as I am, you'll probably never be stuck there once. You're not going to die and the elevator is a safe as it can get, but when it comes to be on time, this can ruin your punctuality. As you learn more about Sandwell College, you'll come across that there's Staff Lifts -- you're not meant to use it, however you can get away with using it if you get caught, simply look at the teacher and say "I'm sorry, I'm new to this college lol". They will reconsider your case and allow you to use the lift, but warn you not to use it again. Of course, the chances of getting caught by the same teachers are low, so I advise to use them as a last case scenario.

Did I.T a couple years back. Not sure why write a review now but i'm sure the same tutors are still there. Decent college, I like food and that was decent, Some lecturers I have a little power trip and make things unnecessarily long and difficult explaining "This I what it will be like at university" but needless to say, That statement wasn't accurate.

university makes you write much less worded essays than CGP, one i wrote was over 30k words and so were most of the classes.

Sometimes, work gets done for you so ez gg wp. If you have half a brain though, You'll pass with flying colours where everything you'll learn will go to waste and start from scratch at university which they explain a lot for you anyway, especially in programming (the one i went to).

Overall, not bad

Poor teaching, poor tutors who don't offer you support, the staff are miserable, lack passion for their job, arrogant and prefer to watch you fail your course rather than help you succeed. 1/10 staff were likeable. I recommend switching to Halesowen as I've passed my courses since leaving this hellhole.

I went there for an initial assessment and never came back cuz the staff were rude as f and gave me an attitude for no reason. Bald dikhed.

I was looking at this college for my daughter whose a school leaver in june for the animal course however after reading these reviews about this college, i think ill opt for solihull college thanks reviewers for helping me make the right decision.

Unfriendly unsupportive teachers who are just full of themselves. We had a teacher who would literally run out of the class an hour early when we would rather get taught properly. Unless you would want to end up teaching yourself, i would not recommend this college to anyone. All talk and no action was what I've found with this college.
