Sartoria Bar Ristorante Description

Italian flair meets English tradition at Sartoria. Located in one of Mayfair’s most famous streets, Savile Row, the home of British tailoring, this undeniably chic restaurant brings authentic Italian flavours, Milanese-inspired interiors and a touch of London style to its equally stylish clientele.

Since opening in 1998, Sartoria has quietly built up a reputation for its simple yet sophisticated Italian food and smart service. Chef Patron Francesco Mazzei is passionate about authentic Italian cooking and crafts exquisite dishes that can be enjoyed over a long lunch or relaxing dinner.

The elegant bar is a fashionable spot for Mayfair sybarites looking for a light lunch, an espresso or classic Negroni.

And to accompany that? As well as our incredible new cocktail menu, sample Chef Patron Francesco Mazzei's an all-new selection of delicious cicchetti including harcoal grilled lamb chop with caponata; Roast pepper and Pecorino lasagne and Cuttlefish arancini... perfect food to accompany your night-cap.

What an excellent restaurant. We saw it and head chef on Masterchef and decided to have lunch before going to the theatre. The spaghetti carbonara was to die for and the best I have had in Italy and UK. It’s not cheap but the service, food and the staff were exceptional. Can’t wait to go back.

User

Went for Saturday lunch on a whim and enjoyed it immensely. Service spot on, attentive and friendly but not fawning, food tasted and looked great.

User

We had such a wonderful lunch. Service was very attentive, food was so just amazing. Just a lovely place.

User

Super Christmas Eve meal with my boyfriend. Staff were superb, service level just right - attentive when needed but left alone to enjoy our meal. Food was very good, and happy to make substitutions if needed due to diet. Would return again tomorrow.

User

Start to finish loved it laid back no rush no stuffy ness willing to help with menu and items on it this place is now firmly on my go to list it’s even open early so a sat shopping trip to Bond Street or nearby can be done earlier and have breakfast first I cannot recommend this place enough even if you only want a drink viva sartoria

User

Saturday night was not our first time at Sartoria, but I decided to make a surprise to my husband and kids to celebrate their Birthdays.

We had aperitivi at the bar to start with. The dinner was excellent, my boys were raving about the carbonara (they are real Italian foodies) and our fresh tagliolini with lobster were delicious! We then had the tagliata as a main, melting in the mouth, as it should be.

As requested when I booked, the chef prepared a small cake for us to celebrate the event: pistachio cake with fruit and cream. Awesome!!

Perfect dinner. Thanks Sartoria: perfect food, perfect setting, perfect sevice.

Lunch today

Beautiful restaurant, food is excellent and the service from all the staff Is 1st class.

User

Loved every minute from walking through the door and having a cocktail at the bar, the service was excellent as was the atmosphere.

The food was out of this world.

We will definitely be returning on our next trip to London

User

I've loved this place for years and was concerned it wouldn't be as good after the refurb last year but it's even better. The food is fantastic and reasonably priced, at the dearer end but you don't fall off your chair when the bill arrives! Staff/Service is excellent, even more so when they know you've been a few times. Leave choosing the wine to Michael the Sommelier, he'll always get it spot on and suit his choice to your budget. Can't wait to go again!

User

Being vegetarian I wasn’t expecting much, even expensive restaurants don’t usually have good vegetarian choices. I am glad I was proven wrong in this case, food was amazing as was the service, would definitely go back......

User

Bar area a bit minimalist but great comfy chairs. In the restaurant the food and service is superb and you are never left wanting for anything else. Seems wine prices at all these places are jacked up 300% but that is the norm. Will be back soon.

User

Authentical and superb Italian cuisine in a super relaxed ambience.

User

Absolutely loved the dinner. The ambience was perfect for nice evening. Although the restaurant has many guests you do feel like you have your own space to comfortably dine. The food was excellent the wine was good. Hospitality at its best. Would visit again when am back in London.

User

Absolutely loved it! My partner really enjoyed the creme limone. I loved my seafood fettuccine. The service was great!

User

I was slightly anxious as I’d had very mixed reviews of Sartoria, but I have to say I found them pretty unfounded. I thought the food was great, the service was impeccable, particularly a sommelier who chose a wine for us that I had never tried and honestly was just lovely and perfectly matched to the dishes we’d chosen. It was a real surprise and I’ve ordered some bottles for home on his recommendation. All the staff were fab, we even stayed at the bar afterwards for drinks and enjoyed a personalised cocktail and a chat with the bar manager and bar staff. (Not just a great tash but also a great knowledge of spirits etc, introduced me to a new liquor after learning I love bergamot- such personable service it felt like making friends not ordering a drink.)

Our drinks from the bar weren’t brought to our table which wasn’t great, not just a waste but also left us without anything to drink for quite a while. Yes. It was expensive, our bill came to £500 odd, but we did have a bottle of lovely wine, a glass of champagne each, cognacs etc on top of dinner. Crab and apple antipasti was a dish I went in wanting to order before even sitting down and unfortunately I was a bit disappointed, a very “crabby” crab dish, I left the brown crab and felt a bit miffed (as someone who usually loves crab.) as my husband tucked into a delicious burratta, pea and broad bean dish. (Which was perfection.) Zuchinni fritti could have done with slightly more seasoning. The lobster taglioni was subtle and just lovely, micro herbs gently setting off the tomato and wine sauce on a fabulous pasta dish. And for me the pork cheek / belly / croquette was bliss, particularly the croquette of which I could have eaten maybe four had I not been fit to burst by that point!!

All in all we had a really lovely evening, we enjoyed the understated Italian style of ambience, the drinks were great, the food was lovely, but the staff really made it for us; attentive, friendly, warm, they turned an average “date night” into a great evening we both cheered today with sore heads.

User

The location is lovely and the restaurant is beautiful and clean but the service is not the best. They all come st once and gather around the table waiting for you to choose. The food was okay. I would go back only for the cocktail: giovani dentro.

User

Enjoyed the anti-pasti and the steak tagaliata which was delicious. Deep fried Zucchini was delicious to. However partner's main of pasta with a sausage ragu just seemed to be well seasoned pasta sprinkled with small minced pieces of sausage. Didn't match the description and was very disappointing. Frozen pistachio desert was very average, slightly too hard and came served in paper. All in all slightly over priced for what it Is.

User

Very expensive, food average had better Italian, service not great.won’t go back. Was my sons 30 Birthday meal & we were a table of 7.!!!!

User

Charged for champagne we never had. Check your bill! We normally do but the one time we didn’t we were over charged six times our actual bill. We were asked to come to the restaurant for a reimbursement however arrived there, staff were rude and we were told they were unable to be reimbursed. So a waste of our time and overcharged. Outrageous.
