Loved it! If you're ever in Brixton try a Red Dragon from Satay Bar. Staff were all wonderful, shout out to our waitress Natasha, who made sure we were good. Will definitely go again.

User

Food has remained consistent for over 15 years. Good food + good drinks = good time!!

User

Been to Satay quite a few times with my friends and I have to say the cocktails are delicious as is the food on the menu.

User

Been coming Satay for years and have watched it's growth. Know all the staff but I must say, since the new general manager has joined I've seen a great change in vibe and attitude. Great to be welcomed by a smiling face and positive attitude. It's always been my spot on A Friday evening... may just have to add Saturdays to that too now. Lol.

User

Amazing food and cocktails. Great music and vibe. Loved it!

User

A massive thank you to the Satay Bar Brixton for such great food and great service. I'm a Brixton Boy and have always enjoyed the delights that you serve up. Looking forward to my next eats! Cocktails and food on point!

User

The food was great, the staff were really welcoming and also went all out for the customer, the only thing was I wished all the cocktails were included in the happy hour. Had a good time and the music was great.

What let Satay Bar down was the "Manager". My friend and I waited for an hour and a half before we were told they had misled our order. Ok I was annoyed but human error can happen. Want really had me streaming was the fact that the "Manger" did not have the customer service skills to come over and apologise. He sent an inexperience staff member to do so. Luckily staff member had been very polite, so felt it would be unfair to take my displeasure out on him. I had to beckon the "Manger" over to point out my frustrations at the way he dealt with whole situation. He responded "We are busy and I was coming over when you asked for bill". No apology might I add. Eventually having enough excuses I ended the conversation.

We finally got our food, which was lovely and was able to enjoy the rest of our meal.

Satay Bar, if this is the standard of your leadership team they are letting down an otherwise lovely establishment and will lose customers regardless of their wonderful food.

The vibe and drinks were great. Me and my friends enjoyed it but the blonde manager was horrible and treated us in a very rude way. She even pushed one of us because we were queuing for drinks on the wrong side of the bar and apparently ‘blocking’ the pass. This is not how you treat customers who spend lots of £ in your place.

User

The cocktails were very good (half price too) and the vibe inside was buzzing, after that it went downhill pretty quickly. The waitress who served us 'blonde short hair' was so miserable, someone must have slapped her with a wet kipper! She looked flustered and annoyed at what was going on behind the scenes and was not particularly welcoming. We ordered the starters, which came out after maybe 25 mins not horrendous as we were chatting but a long wait all the same and perfectly edible. Then the wait for the mains; well it felt they were never gonna arrive! So after waiting so long we asked where was our food with no real response, so we decided to order another drink at the bar. Here also lies a problem. When you have a busy bar and two staff (one washing glasses) and the other making cocktails from scratch you are gonna wait a long time to be served. Whilst waiting to catch the bartender's eye our food eventually arrived and I gave up and sat down to eat. The food was presented well and was warm (I like it hot) and taste-wise not too dissimilar to M&S food. It's a shame because once again a restaurant in London has lost future customers because they can't get the fundamentals right-great customer service and delicious food served in a reasonable amount of time-take note!!! Maybe go just for a cocktail instead and take a book to read whilst you're waiting to get served!

User

I won't go back there in a hurry. The food was delicious I never bothered buying a cocktail but I see how gorgeous they looked, I'm a wine drinker. There was an issue our table booking at the start and our bill at the end but it was quickly resolved. It's the members of staff that puts the place down tbh. We went on a Saturday night and it was rather busy.

User

Best food when they get it right but many times now delivery was very late so food was cold and order was wrong...shame

User

Been coming here for years, food is always good but service is never great unfortunately!

User

The table was ready at the time which was great but there is a distinct lack of seating after you have finished your 2 hour slot so you are left with no option but to leave. A real shame as we wanted a few more cocktails.

Also if you are serving plates before the meal they need to be warm it made the food cool really quickly. Unfortunately the food was not pipping hot. My friend enjoyed the red curry and I really enjoyed the nan bread.

It would also be nice to be warned that the 2 hour slot is coming to an end and not just thrust with the bill and then with no smile being told sternly that you need to pay now.

Will take a long time before I will be making another visit.

User

Not enough room to comfortably socialise and the blonde woman , the manager I presume was VERY rude and dismissive, her attitude was unacceptable which in turn led to end my stay at the Satay Bar. I shall not return and will not recommend.

User

Increased the hours of happy hour but reduced the range of drinks available...Vibe just isn't the same anymore. A lot of people opting to go to another venue close by and I can definitely see why.

User

I went to Satay Bar on Wednesday and I was very disappointed with the service I received.

It was absolutely atrocious if I’m being honest.

On arrival, a member of staff was serving two customers in front of me. There was another member of staff at the till and I wasn’t acknowledged at all. It took her about 20 minutes to ask me if I wanted to order food and one other staff member said the kitchen closed in 10 minutes so imagine if I didn’t get my order in. When my food arrived, I wasn’t even asked if it was ok or if I needed anything. I was shocked because I haven’t had this experience before.

User

Will return following management upgrade: rude and disinterested staff who are losing money for the owner(s)

User

Let me start my saying, satay bar provided the worst service Iv ever had!!!!! Got seated at 8:30 ordered drinks and food at 8:40, by 9:30 nothing. My friend went to the bar to re order our drinks. It got to 10:30 and still no food. Asked the manager and our waiter what had happened to our food, both said they would find out but ended walking past our table countless times ignoring our table. We further asked 3 more members of staff for the manager and nothing!! The lady who seated us attempted to smooth over the fact that they had majorly messed up but frankly didn’t do a great job. We ended up walking out and going to KFC instead!! What a terrible terrible awful experience. Will never step foot in satay bar again.
