About Satyananda Yoga Centre
A non-residential teaching centre providing a wide range of weekly yoga classes in Birmingham and throughout the surrounding West Midlands areas.
Satyananda Yoga Centre Description
The main focus of the Centre is the provision of a wide range of weekly yoga classes in Birmingham and throughout the surrounding West Midlands area. Currently there are ten teachers associated with the Centre offering not only Beginners, Intermediate and Advanced yoga classes to the general public, but also some classes in specialist institutions or special applications of yoga:
• ante-natal and post-natal yoga
• elderly people
• mental health rehabilitation groups
• stress management
• In addition to weekly yoga classes, normally there is a small programme of:
• evening courses, eg. meditation courses, health management courses
• regular chanting of Mahamrityunjaya mantra & Durga mantra
• shankhaprakshalana & other salt water cleansing practices twice a year
• day seminars for all levels of students, special interest groups and teachers on a variety of topics
Some teachers also offer one-to-one and small group classes by arrangement.

Spring Clean – Experience the short salt water cleansing practices of Hatha Yoga on Sunday September 24th. These practices all have extensive health benefits and are conducted by qualified teachers of the subject.
Guru Poornima is the one full moon day in the year dedicated to the spiritual preceptors, the luminaries of the world. The July full moon is said to be the brightest moon of the year, when the spiritual masters radiate their grace in abundance and those with an open heart can receive that grace.
