We went today for the £12.95 special for a starter, burger and fries with a drink and it was beautiful. We all really enjoyed everything and the waiter (Richard) was lovely xx

Visited here on Saturday for my post competition feed - I had travelled up north for the comp and had been looking for places for a big feed afterwards and this place was most appealing to me! Having read some of views though I was a bit apprehensive... however I'm so glad I chose to eat here!!! Not sure where the bad reviews are stemming from! It was amazing - everything I hoped for and more after dieting for 6 months the chilli nachos were unreal- me and my friend shared them and then ordered 2 burgers - the Jessica rabbit and the born sloppy. Both delicious however jessica rabbit was defo a favourite! Preferred the skinny fries to the homemade ones (the only downside was that the homemade are a little greasy). The portion sizes were good - I was defeated and couldn't finish it!

My boyfriend also got the buttermilk chicken burger which was huge! And the garlic mushrooms. Which were both enjoyed.

Service was also spot on. Didn't have to wait long for food either. Very reasonable price. If your in the area definately give this place a visit x

Very friendly staff. Just right in fact. Not too formal but not to laid back.

Two of us dined here with the Sunderland restaurant week offer and I will be back. Well priced food (on normal menu) for the quality served and the price of soft drinks (for the driving) was great to - unfortunately some places take your eyes out and its about the same price as alcohol.

And the coleslaw was absolutely amazing! Even beats my mams homemade one!

This was my second trip to Saucy Burger and we almost learnt from the first visit not to order too much food as the portions are large!

I am gluten free and had cheesy nachos with pulled pork followed by sticky bbq ribs, skin on fries, slaw + extra corn on the cob, consequently I couldn't finish my main course even though I had shared my nachos!!

There is a good selection of dishes and obviously not just burgers.

The only criticism I have is that there is no allergy menu and therefore you have to look through a file which is a bit of a pain and definately old school.

I always book but you can just walk in off the street and be seated.

I would definately recommend this snd you csn get great takeaways too.

User

Not the cheapest burgers but definitely one of the best. If you like a gourmet burger then it's a great shout without travelling into town centre. Mac & Cheese side highly recommended too

User

Had a great meal here Friday 5th Jan..bbq chicken wings and fried chicken bites were fab. Both our burgers were wonderful too...both the waiter and waitress were very helpful and polite.

I asked for a finger bowl, and although they didn't do them they quickly disappeared and returned with one.

I would recommend this to accompany those delicious bbq chicken wings and ribs.. deffo will return.

First time visit yesterday ordered the special menu £12.95 starter burger & soft drink. Paid an extra £1 for a pint of Amstel. Had the nachos starter which was absolutely enormous followed by the Love Hate Burger with fries. Food was great & the waitress very friendly. Certainly will go back we loved the place.

User

Excellent food at excellent prices. Would deffo recommend. The rack of ribs were to die for

User

Amazing food , great value for money , friendly helpful staff , great unique setting with american twist , would go again

User

Absolutely the best chicken wings I've EVER had! (starter)

And the burgers were soooo good too, had the onion rings and fries 😍 All in all, spot on!

Well worth the price 👌🏼

Very friendly staff, I didn't have any issues but a table across from us had an end of barrel pint... staff bent over backwards to get it corrected.

User

Plenty of choice, price ok, quality of food and service good only downside was if you wanted to remove something from your burger I.e no pickle but you get a naked burger with all other bits on the side of your plate and it arrives but the lettuce etc has the pickle on it so you can't have the lettuce etc, that was only downside to what was a fantastic meal

We arrived at 4:40, well before any "busy period" set in.

Upon arrival, we had to search around for life - then as we found some other customers outside, we decided just to take a booth and see which member of staff appeared first, whilst we perused the menu.

Luckily, this never took long and by the time someone had came 5 minutes later, we were ready with our drinks and burger orders - which were taken swiftly.

I can't say it took any longer than 10 minutes for the five meals to appear in front of us - which were absolutely amazing.

As we ate, more staff appeared, as did more customers - but no more than 5 other tables.

This is when it started to go downhill.

The food took an age to clear from our table, and then we waited about 15/20 mins for our dessert order to be taken - which, we assumed wouldn't take too long to arrive (given that the new larger party had already been served, and based on our previous wait time). How wrong we were!

We ordered the doughnuts (x2) and the Lemon Meringue Pie (approximately costing £15 for the three).

It must have been a further 15/20 minutes before our deserts arrived, making us think that the doughnuts were being made fresh from scratch!

Nope...the doughnuts arrived on a cup stand from tesco, and appeared to be shop bought.

Whilst I agree with the "novelty" of the cup stand, the standard of the desert was lacklustre at best.

(For reference, the pie was no better or worse than any other lemon meringue I've had elsewhere).

A disappointing end to what started out being an excellent experience.

This was the first time myself and daughter had visited the restaurant with our friends. After looking at the Menu we were looking forward to our meal. I am currently pregnant and my self and friends were thinking of having a cocktail making party once I have had the baby. But due to the extremely slow service and dry chicken I had yesterday, I must admit I'm having second thoughts. Only up side was the waitress did change my daughters meal after she tried the popcorn chicken and didn't like it. Such a shame after a lovely day had with friends.

Never normally leave a bad review, but unfortunately i was so disappointed with my last visit. I have been here many times and the food is always beautiful. Ordered my burger, did wait a lil bit longer for it to be served even though it was only myself and partner and another 2 people in the whole place. The burger arrived and attempted to pick it up and it disintegrated in my hand the bottom bun was like it has been dipped in a glass of water. So i told the waitress and she was nice took it away didnt wait too long for yet another. It was the same chips as what was on the previous plate so they were stone cold. The burger itself was cold and burnt to a crisp. Couldnt eat it. Definitely a slide in quality from all the other times i visited. Even the chips tasted like they had been re heated up. Definitely disappointed for the price you pay for a meal

Have visited a few times and enjoyed the food and atmosphere. After last night I won’t be returning again. The ultimate zombie drinks weren’t flaming or in skull glasses therefore not an ultimate zombie and the food was a real let down, not as advertised on the menu and certainly not of a high standard. We did query these issues with the waitress who was full of excuses.

User

3 1/2 hours for a burger where to start?! Took 1 1/2 hours to get our starters (cold nachos) then another 45mins after that for our burgers... tbf the burgers were really nice but the lack of staff has let this place down massively!! After spending all afternoon with 2 hungry kids waiting for their food it hadn't given us the best experience....I don't think we will be in any rush to return! Got to give credit to the bar staff though felt really sorry for them they were lovely!!!

User

Was staying in the hotel next door and for convenience had booked a table for Saturday night which will be our only visit.

Took 20 minutes from sitting at table to receive our drinks.

The lime in one drink was mouldy and had gone off!

Was told food maybe delayed because the restaurant downstairs was fully booked!!!

When the food arrived, two of the orders were incorrect and one “combo” had three sides and one main on it!

The final straw was when I ate into a chip which had a hair attached, which made me feel sick.

I’m also not convinced my burger was properly cooked but we didn’t stay to find out as, after speaking with the manager, he could not apologise enough, waived the bill and we left for an early night.

User

Slow slow slow

Waited a lifetime for food to arrive

, made the mistake of ordering deserts another lifetime of a wait .When it did such a disappointment Ordered the plater for one I don't think a spoon full of slaw constitutes as a side portion

Pulled pork tasted nice but not Mitch of it at all

Had to ask for the free popcorn for the children

And the price of a drink what the hell man , it's not London so don't charge London prices .

Won't be back

Won't recommend , in fact I will discourage anyone who asks about it

Best go to man v food at South Shields better food and more of it

Sorry saucy burger had your chance and you blew it
