Last night we were invited to give a presentation on remapping at the Preston & District MG Enthusiasts club monthly meeting.

Following the presentation we provided free OBD diagnostics & fob programming services for the members before re-tuning an early MGF resulting in another satisfied customer!

MG TF 115 We were asked to give this a looking over after a mobile mappers previous attempt had left the owner feeling underwhelmed.
A quick read of the ECU showed it was 100% stock, which was disappointing to hear after someone had taken payment and not done any work!
... Our custom tune removed the flat spot the owner found between 2-4k rpm , added some much needed extra power to the little 1.6 and gave it that sporty sound with some overrun pops on it's TT MK7 backbox.
We'll be seeing the owner again soon when his TF160 track car is complete and ready for the final touches 🏎️

ZS180 - 216hp!
This one has had all the toys. Piper 270 cams, lightened flywheel, ITG Maxogen and Janspeed manifolds + exhaust with decat.
Previously tuned elsewhere (before cams & manifold) it pulled ~198 with a lean top end (14.1:1), not ideal especially when it gets used on track.
... Using the dyno we gave it a customised tune to fix the AFR and with some other tweaks bring it up to 216hp.
Whilst tuning we monitor various parameters including knock, which showed up some irregularities which might be robbing it of power. With this fixed perhaps even more can be had..

Good news for MEMS1.9 owners! We can now retune these ECUs via post, making it easier than ever to get that extra poke for your pre-MEMS3 models.

TF160 with decatted exhaust. One of the loudest cars we've heard ,and was still being heard far down the road!

Rover 25 Gti ECU in for post remap. As stock these are detuned to ~143bhp, but with the right tweaks to ignition and fuel these can be back up there with the tuned 160s!

Stopped by MG and Alfa Spares today to perform a MEMS1.9 retune for this MGF 75th Anniversary 1.8MPI Now with improved throttle response and power the owner is much happier with how the car should have been from factory.

Our post service option has been quite popular recently, so much so we're on first name basis with the post office staff! Although the majority have been MEMS3, we've also provided 75/ZT diesel ECUs for customers overseas. The example below is a TF135 being prepared for British Legends, who have reported it being much more lively and enjoying the new overrun burbles!

Currently being restored by the team MG and Alfa Spares and showing off some of the new products they've been working on such as interior lighting/chrome and TF Halo headlights!
To really let the 135 engine come to life they chose to have one of our dyno proven TF135 maps which alongside a TT Mk7 exhaust should be running the region of 145-150bhp and sounding the part with the overrun burbles/pops!

ZS 180 in for our first job of 2019!
Fitted with a gutted inlet due to a VIS motor wiring issue this made a little over "stock" but showed strong gains after one of our remaps +12bhp & 15lbft ,all dyno proven.
Looking forward to meeting the owner again when the VIS setup is fixed, especially as the words '190' and 'engine' got mentioned...

We've had our best year yet, the KV6 has been added to our supported models and we've worked on some very interesting builds such as the first CDTi with a 330D turbo and the Allegro VVC with NOS! We're looking forward to 2019 where we'll be releasing the MG3 & MG6 remaps as well as continue with our work on the MEMS 2J.

Some great feedback on our TF135 remap :)

MG3 Development has begun....

ZS180 - 194 Bhp
Fitted with a stainless catback this made a little over stock, despite a defective balance VIS system killing the low end torque.
With our KV6 development remap there was a nice improvement across the rev range with an 11Hp & 15Nm at peak.
... Owner is very much looking forward to getting the VIS working again so can fully experience what the KV6 has to offer

ZT CDTi with BMW 330D VNT Turbo - 194Hp!!
Starting with 140bhp & 225lbft this is now quite possibly the most powerful 75/ZT diesel on the road!
Using a larger VNT turbo we could go past the limitations of the stock unit and even reach the limit of the fuel delivery system. All while capping the low end torque to protect the clutch and control the smoke levels.
... The owner is keen for more though so perhaps some high flow injectors are on the cards ....

Over the moon with the results on my TD, back after more mods

Over the moon just had my mg zr 1.4 in had 135 cams and some other bits done to it just made 136bhp defiantly a different car to drive.

Having recently had a remap of my MGZT automatic diesel, what can I say?



What a fantastic difference you guys have made to the car, pulls well, whilst still keeping sensible mpg. This is now the car, MGRover should have made in the first place :)

Had my ZR 120 done at Manchester, I cannot recommend SAWS tuning enough very professional and knowledgeable. Feels like a different car, pulls harder, picks up faster and with the overrun pop and bang sounds amazing. Top Job.

Excellent service from Will who certainly knows his stuff .. my TF is like a new car �
