The MAD Lottery is an excellent and easy way to support fund raising for the Academy. On average it has raised over £1000 per year which has bought all of the outside benches around the site.
Last year, we raised just over £400 :(
Joining is easy, for just £1 per month, minimum joining is £6, all paid via Parentpay.

Each year we award 'The Principal's Award' to a student who has excelled in all aspects of Academy life, but more importantly has done so against a backdrop of personal challenge. This year there were several commendable nominations but the Award was given to Lily Devonshire in yr13. Congratulations Lily and good luck with your next steps.

Key stage 4 and 5 art students enjoyed a trip down to London to visit the National Portrait Gallery to see the BP Portrait Award exhibition. After lunch and a brief stop at Trafalgar Square to watch the street performers the students then visited the Mall Galleries near Buckingham Palace for the National Students Art Exhibition. It was great to see the 21 artworks on display from Sawtry VA students as well as all the other best artwork from around the country. ‘I really enjo...yed this trip.To see other students work and ideas is really helpful as it gives an idea of the level of art you need to aim at. For me this trip made me look forward, plan and challenge my work ready for my A level in Art. ‘ Ben Adams ‘I was so amazed and proud of myself to have been selected for the NSAE amongst other incredible art pieces. It was such a huge achievement.’ Amy Bogusz

Last Friday, SVA Encore celebrated a fantastic year of hard work with their School of Rock after show party. George and Jake in year 7 were entirely responsible for the lighting and music – they brought their own kit and set it all up themselves – they did an amazing job! It was so lovely to see students from years 7-12 all laughing and dancing together. The students never cease to amaze us and as always it has been an absolute pleasure to work with these kind, talented and hardworking students. Have a brilliant summer guys, we’re so excited for next year! Miss Hughes and Ms Chilvers
