Jamie from Sax.co.uk & Aoife from The Vibe visited the World famous jazz club Ronnie Scott's in London today to donate three brand new instruments to their musical instrument amnesty.
The scheme will help children across the UK and the world have greater access to music training. It's a real pleasure to donate these instruments to such a good cause.

On the morning of the 19th of May members of all three shops at SaxWindBrass.LONDON were invited to our communities local school; Netley Primary, to give a presentation at their careers day.
The children had decided that this year's careers day would focus on the arts and invited guests from different areas of the arts to visit. Wendy Paver from sax.co.uk, Graeme Turner from The Vibe and Hugh Fairbairn from Phil Parker's were welcomed to the school for morning assembly with c...hildren in years 2 to 6.
As the children filed in a little buzz of whispers began. Graeme was holding his flute and Hugh had his trumpet. However when Wendy picked up her Baritone saxophone from its case, the excitement turned into squeals. Many of the children had never seen a saxophone that big! After being introduced to the children, the presentation began with a short rendition of Taylor Swift's song Shake It Off. The children recognised it instantly and were singing along and bouncing around where they sat.
Once the song had ended the children were invited to ask questions about the careers of the visitors and about the instruments that are sold in the shop. The questions varied greatly from "Why are there so many keys on a saxophone and not on a trumpet?" to "What was the inspiration that got you into music?" and "When did you start playing music?".
A number of the children at the school are learning to play the Recorder and were excited by the knowledge that in the future they could move on to other instruments with the skills they were learning now. The presentation and questions lasted around half an hour with a final encore of Shake It Off, requested by the Deputy Head, to finish.
All of the children and teachers were extremely grateful for the visit and many expressed an interest in visiting the store to learn more. The visit ended with a short video interview with Wendy conducted by two of the Career Champions (children chosen to look after the visiting guests and help run the day).
Later that day we were visited in store by three year 6 girls who wanted to try out some instruments in order to see which ones they liked best ahead of going to Big School in September. They tried a Saxophone, a Flute, a Clarinet, a Trumpet and very much enjoyed themselves. In the following few days, we were visited by several other students wanting to further their learning. We also received a lovely thank you note from the children and staff inviting us back again in the future.
Even now, when a class walk past the shop on their way to the local swimming pool they all wave at the staff and shout hello.
Being able to inspire the next generation and make music and instruments more accessible to the local community is a wonderful opportunity and we hope to continue these projects in the future.
Many thanks to Netley Primary School for inviting us along. We had a fabulous time!
