Musical fundraiser for South Yorkshire Refugee Law And Justice - Sunday 10 December 3pm
What better way to celebrate Human Rights Day than joining this fundraiser to help work with asylum seekers.
On Sunday 10th December the acclaimed Sheffield Chamber Choir, under the direction of Robert Webb, returns to St Mark's Church, Broomhill to serve up Christmassy choral delights in their "Christmas à la Carte" concert. You choose the music you want to hear from a menu divided into f...ive courses representing different ages of choral music.
Don't miss the chance to hear this incredibly talented choir and be transported away from all the busyness (and have some fun and maybe a slice or two of cake).
Entrance is free but donations are welcomed to support South Yorkshire Refugee Law and Justice, a small charity working with asylum seekers on fresh claims for protection. Every pound raised makes a huge impact for us as our budget is small and the need is great!
The concert will last just over an hour, and be followed by festive refreshments at around 4.15pm.
Please join us - and bring your family and friends!
Where and when: St Mark's Church - Broomfield Road, S10 2SE, Sunday 10 December, 3-5 pm www.facebook.com/events/2007699372812417/ Any questions? Please contact: syrljfundraiser@gmail.com

... What is World AIDS Day?
World AIDS Day takes place on the 1st December each year. It’s an opportunity for people worldwide to unite in the fight against HIV, to show support for people living with HIV, and to commemorate those who have died from an AIDS-related illness.
Over 100,000 people are living with HIV in the UK. Globally, there are an estimated 36.7 million people who have the virus. Despite the virus only being identified in 1984, more than 35 million people have died of HIV or AIDS, making it one of the most destructive pandemics in history.
World AIDS Day is important because it reminds the public and government that HIV has not gone away – there is still a vital need to raise money, increase awareness, fight prejudice and improve education.
