I’ve been a console player for years but I’d had enough of the performance.

So I decided to build my own gaming PC, after much research I took my list of PC peripherals to SCAN but needed to ensure the items I’d chosen were A) Compatible � the best choice for what my intentions were.

I rang SCAN first to see if I needed an appointment to discuss this or if I just turn up. The gentleman who I spoke to was very helpful and said “you can either turn up at SCAN and speak to the people on sales or I can discuss it over the phone with you now”.

I decided that I would visit SCAN and purchase items today so I can start my build as soon as possible.

Having lived in Bolton for over 30 years I was familiar with where SCAN was located and with it being an established company for many years I was happy to make the trip.

I was seen straight away by a young sales person who discussed my build in detail and recommend some changes and the reasons why. It took about 30 minutes to finalise everything, I waited at the collection point for 5 minutes and drove away a very happy customer.

I can’t thank you enough for you advice and great customer service. I will definitely buy from you again as your prices are very competitive and you can’t beat the customer satisfaction they provide. �

I have been using scan computers for many years and have usually never had any issues. i build P.Cs so ive bought a lot of stuff, any faulty items ive had are usually dealt with in a swift and timely manor, my only issue i have is with delivery costs, sometimes you spend lots of money and still have to pay the same delivery cost as if you bought one. lots of other places will give you free delivery on orders over X amount. scan should follow this idea. other than that i am happy to use them again and again.

I cant say a bad word about scan computers, prices are allways good, massive range of products and the delivery times are the best.



Would love to visit the store but that would be a 4 hour drive so have to stick to their online store.

Don't know what the fuss is all about, been buying from Scan for over 15 years and im yet to receive a faulty product, maybe the people moaning should actually learn about PC's rather than watching a youtube video proclaiming after watching they're IT experts, 15 years and nothings gone wrong either im the luckiest guy in the world or that i research and learn from past mistakes (and avoid torrent sites and cracked games), don't push your hardware beyond its limits (common reason why product brake), if your going to overclock learn the basics first and if the product breaks while overclocking (again common reason why products brake) they unless stated in the small print it's "your fault" not the retailer so don't expect a refund, so many crap reviews from people who can't be bothered to learn or read the T&C.

Did not have much of a clue about computers, just used a laptop that was so slow, rang the sales team told them what I was looking for and they recommended the kit, and a great price, picked it up a few days later, and wow what a difference, it’s great!

12/10 on packaging, loads of padding & anti-static bubble wrap is pink, which has my approval. I'm still not sure if I was more excited about the thought of popping pink bubble wrap or trying out the computer...

Being 20 min drive from me I often view stuff I want using the webby, write down the product code and just nip up to buy it.

A couple of times the staff on the counter have recommended something different and I have taken that advice and have not regretted it...today only deals for example.

Only problem I have ever had was when building a pc for my nephew once with parts bought from scan, the bios needed updating on the mobo to accept the cpu.

Nipped back upto scan and got it sorted no problem. The tech guys left 2 sticks of test ram in the mobo and I only realised when I got home...I could have been a shady dishonest customer and kept the ram but scan have always been good to me and I took it back up there next time I got the chance :)

so had a really random day today my order was not shipped due to a item i ordered being used.... i spoke to a very helpful man called dave as i could not get through on the phone... he offered lots of help but we could not come to a agreement as i felt i was miss sold the item and wanted compensating (upgraded cpu cooler) which was not to much to ask but poor old dave said he could not authorise that. sadly it ended up in me asking for a full refund and having to look else where... just fairly shocked that i was miss sold a item that was being used "by one of the pickers" sadly i wont be returning to scan sorry

Worst customer service experience ever. I ordered a AM4 motherboard, and I asked them to check the bios version, if it's compatible with my Ryzen 5 2400g. They refused to do it, because "they not allowed to open the box, even if I ask". They didn't offer any sort of bios update service for me beforehand. I'm told that if the bios is too old for the CPU, then I can go to the local computer store. They just wasn't interested in my problem at all. When the motherboard arrived I realized it came with the old bios version indeed and now I have an AM4 motherboard and a AM4 CPU and I cannot use them.



They contacted me after this review and offered me a free bios update which is normally £10 for customers:

"To help our customers, we offer to place the order through our sales team directly and have the bios updated for a £10.00 charge"



They refused to send me a cheap £25 a6 9500 to do the bios update because I could break it (haha). They also refused to collect the motherboard free of charge. There is no solution here, just really bad customer service. It's a shame really, because I used scan for a very long time but I will never use them again.



If you want to buy any AMD product please avoid them because they have no clue at all.

Worse experience ever. Order placed on 31rd of May for laptop. After almoust week of everyday contact as they made mistakes one by one sending to wrong adress, and later redirecting instead to proper adress back to Scan(m) what of course was DPD fault (joke). I got some rubbish email explenation after another phonecall that "I changed adress three times and some other bullshit and there's security risk". Need to admit that they already had payment (sic!). Story in progress as I have been ensured that money will be within 3 working days back on account... Of course another lie. It's already 9th of June and I am still waiting.

Incompetent people you cannot trust.

Well first time I decided to use scan to get a full system (3xs gaming laptop) and had nothing but issues, ram was faulty first time round now the laptop wont even post. By the time I got my laptop back after first repair scan had it longer than I had (3 weeks to replace a ram stick and do testing) now looking at having to send it off for goodness knows how long just to get diagnosed then repaired. Never have I had so much trouble with one electronic product. Would not recommend Scan for anything other than parts based on my experiences. Very frustrated with the quality of my purchase which cost me a hell of a lot of money amd now headaches and stress when I need to be using it.

Ordered a Rog Swift £2000+ monitor off this company, the monitor is faulty (ASUS have confirmed ). When I got In contact with SCAN they told me the dead pixels I had on my brand new screen was not classed as a fault and there was nothing they could do to help me resolve my situation.

Obviously dark black spots on a brand new gaming screen is a fault any company would be able to tell you this. I had this monitor 20 days when I found dead pixels so under the 30 day consumers right law I was entitled to a full refund or replacement , I will add I did not want any money back just a 100% fit for purpose screen. Scan argued the 30 day consumers right law and said I was not entitled to it as the monitor was not faulty, they even said that Asus have confirmed it was not a fault. Little did they know I was on the phone to ASUS and they had 100% confirmed and agreed this is a fault.



Moving forward 2 days SCAN and ASUS have received pictures off my fault, ASUS have right away sent me a brand new monitor.

I have just had a email from scan, confirming it is dead pixels however they still do no think it is enough for it to be a fault. They would need me to send it back to them for them to test then send back to me.



This is the worse customer service I have ever received, the staff are extremely rude and do not appear to want to help you with any issues you have.



Please think before spending a lot of money with this company as if you encounter a fault you may not get it resolved.

New OC mobo, cpu and ram bundle brought from scan. 3 weeks in Windows crashes on startup. Assumed it was an old HD problem. By the time I figured it was the brand new bundle the 30day return period is over. Now scan won't give me a refund. I'd never buy anything from scan again.

I bought a PC chair which swiftly broke, both the left arm and the seat itself, it takes three weeks for scan to get the supplier to send me spars parts.. Just the arm... For the wrong model. Scan tell me the seats aren't covered under warranty, the arms are, but the bit you sit on, on your CHAIR.. no such luck. Won't be using scam again.

Bought a cooler master air pro4 off them via AMAZONUK, I tried to install myself but failed due to the bracket being the wrong bracket entirely & had that confirmed by a computer repair shop who stung me an xtra £40 to look at it, he offered to install it with the right bracket for a price.



This company scan computers UK are fraudsters. Furthermore they wanted a picture of the bracket, (all I wanted was to return the item) as I had enough of this company & knowing they sent me out a dodgy bracket basically deliberately. Moreover I had no comeback because when I gave the cooler to the PC repair shop to take a look, the guy used a tiny bit of the thermal paste that came with the cooler, (I don't use cooler master paste) so Scan Computers said (after they asked me for pic of bracket) that there was nothing they could do.



Horrible customer service, so altogether the cooler cost £30ish the computer shop £40ish, so nearly £80 for a product I can't use. My instinct told me the bracket wasn't right, (wish I had of listened to my gut) then I wouldn't taken it to shop for them to tell me what I already knew & may have been able to return.

Awful experience. Purchased a laptop with a faulty wifi adapter. Sent it back, was told it was fine and was likely my wireless network. Tested on two other networks and filmed the laptop not showing any wifi right next to a router while other computers next to it had full signal. Sent back again and scan refused to acknowledge a fault. Terrible communication. Desperately need the computer for work and have given in and bought a USB wifi adapter. Avoid.
