About Scarborough And Whitby 0-19 Healthy Child Team

The Healthy Child Programme is an evidence based universal service offered to all children and young people to ensure that they lead safe, healthy lives.

Scarborough And Whitby 0-19 Healthy Child Team Description

The team includes various professionals:
-Specialist Community Public Health Nurses are Specialist Registered Nurses who have undertaken extra training to enable them to lead their team and develop their skills and knowledge to support children, young people and families.
-Healthy Child Practitioners are Registered Nurses with a special interest in supporting children, young people and families and are supervised by the specialist nurses.
-Assistant Practitioners are practitioners that have undertaken training in child health and development, who work under the supervision of the registered staff.
-Healthy Child Screening Technicians are practitioners who carry out screening of children in schools, for the National Child Measurement Programme (NCMP), hearing and vision, they also work under the direction of the registered staff.
-Administration staff are members of the team who carry out skilled admin duties.

The main role of the team is to contribute to children and young people growing up healthily in North Yorkshire
