SAIS - Cake Sale update
Dear Students, Assalaamu alaykum,
... On this amazingly pleasant day today, when you all came together to attend our cake and savouries sale, I am very pleased to advise that a total of ┬Ż2645.96 has been collected, Alhamdulillah.
I applaud the hard work, time, effort and support of each and every individual ŌĆō from my staff, students, parents, children, volunteers, donors of all kinds, and you all, without whose participation this event could not have been the success it is.
I pray that your names will be written for your actions as sadaqah jariyah with Allah. I hope this humble effort to show our brotherhood to Iron Aid, will be blessed and they achieve their goal in building a Community Centre that will flourish, inshaAllah.
JazakumAllah khair once again.

Dear Students/Brothers and Sisters, Assalaamu alaykum,
I pray our blessed guest Ramadan has left you in a high state of eemaan and with a longing for it to return! May Allah swt give you and me the life to see it again next year. Ameen.
... During last month, I sent a message and an email in which I informed you of the Iron Aid project where our Muslim community in the neighbouring Northwood have been given an unexampled opportunity to convert a Church hall into a Community Centre to provide services to fulfil the needs of the community at large. I took the initiative to ask for your help and show our brotherhood by giving however much you could give towards achieving their target of ┬Ż700k. I am delighted that in a short period we successfully raised ┬Ż8,332.80 through my JustGiving page. May Allah swt bless all those brothers and sisters who leapt up to this call to earn the rewards and have their deeds written for sadaqah jariyah, bi idhni Allah.
Brothers and Sisters, you gave whilst fasting, now you have the opportunity to give through the enjoyment of eating and buying and have your share for sadaqah jariyah written yet again!
We have a arranged a grand Cake Sale on Sat 22nd June, between 11.00am and 2pm, at Haydon School (poster attached). All profits will go to the Iron Aid Community Centre project.
I would like you to join me once more, in numbers we have not seen before, to push our contributions to a record level. I would love to see you come in droves - with your families, friends, neighbours and relatives and anyone else you can bring. LetŌĆÖs come together to continue the habit of giving and goodness instilled by Ramadan and make this an event to remember.
Many volunteer ŌĆśbakersŌĆÖ from our SAIS family will be busy making fresh homemade cakes of different colours for you, that will tickle your taste buds. There is a saying that ŌĆśyou eat with your eyes firstŌĆÖ. Imagine indulging in ŌĆ”ŌĆ”. the red velvet cakes, carrot cakes, lemon drizzle, cheese cakes and a large variety of other cakes that will make your mouth water!
WhatŌĆÖs more ŌĆō there will be savouries amongst other refreshments ŌĆō coffees, teas of all kinds and cold drinks ŌĆō all for you to enjoy!
I know I can count on your support and co-operation - see you on 22nd June, inshaAllah.
Please remember to circulate this message as widely as you can. JazakaAllah khair!

What a motivation! She is a role model for those who speak Arabic as well as for those who are learning it.
Come on, you can do it too!!

ŌĆśI pledged that whenever I backbite about someone I would fast a day! It was difficult but I used to backbite and fast. Then, I made an intention that whenever I backbite about someone I would give one diraham as charity! Due to my love of money I left backbiting!'
It was said by Ibn Wahab; Imam MalikŌĆÖs student for more than 20 years. Died in the month of ShaŌĆÖban in 197 AH.

In 1039 AH / 1730 AC on Wednesday 19th ShaŌĆÖban, about 400 years ago, after very strong and continuous rain, the walls of the KaŌĆÖbah had fallen.
The huge flood caused by the rain distorted the MasjidŌĆÖs furniture and a number of people died. The Caliph Murad IV ordered for the KaŌĆÖabah to be rebuilt and this structure stands until today.

It is English Language Day! I really wonder why the Arabs can understand their language (Arabic) which is 10's of centuries old but we cannot understand Shakespearean English which is roughly 4 centuries old unless we use dictionaries.

It is 22nd April. So, it is Earth Day today. 14 hundred years ago, Allah taŌĆÖala considered the concept of this day.
Many places in the QurŌĆÖan mentioned the prohibition of (ž¦┘ä┘üž│ž¦ž») 'distorting or corrupting the landŌĆÖ. It is not just the environmental protection! In fact, it is the protection of all mankind; physically, mentally, .... etc Muslims and non Muslims.

Similar to this time, during the month of ShaŌĆÖban, in the year 161 AH. After a year of suffering from pain in the stomach. It is now more than 1270 years ago, the leader of the acting scholars during the second century, Sufyan ath-Thawree died. However, before his death, he said:
ŌĆśIt used to be ŌĆśmakroohŌĆÖ disliked to have wealth but now the wealth is the shield and protection of the believerŌĆÖ

About 80 years ago, on 21st April 1938 Muhammad Iqbal passed away. May Allah have mercy upon him.
Although Pakistan and India were not divided then, was he originally from Pakistan or India? Does it really matter? I know he was a Muslim, although he was highly influenced by the orientalists!
Muhammad Iqbal and the ŌĆśMetaphysicsŌĆÖ (ž¦┘ä┘ģ┘Ŗž¬ž¦┘ü┘Ŗž▓┘Ŗ┘鞦)... details will be in our Ramadan course: ŌĆśThe Last DayŌĆÖ.
