So often we support our clients to weather a storm that arises in their life. We witness the changes in their demeanour, their presence, their posture and body tissues as things change for better or for worse. We are privileged to work in this way.

Worried about 'getting it right' for LESBIAN, GAY, BISEXUAL, TRANS* AND NON-BINARY identified clients? Are you fearful of 'not knowing enough' / 'saying the wrong thing'? Would you value some time out to explore your own thoughts and feelings about diversity in sexual orientation and gender varience? Would you like to know how to ensure these clients feel safe to contact you and welcome in your practice? We are putting on a 1 day course with a Tina an experienced trainer & facilitator in this field. More details coming soon ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜

Today as part of the Remedial Massage Diploma injury management day we looked at Scar Tissue, it’s impact into the system and how to release it. The first scar I was presented with was a 3 month old foot surgery scar, pinned & plated. The scar was Keloid, so unfortunately I could not work it. Instead I worked a cesarean section scar, with great results. The student could feel the tissue release & soften. A great student group, receptive and eager to learn. Happy now to go away and integrate their knowledge. Love my job!

The Japanese mend broken pottery with powder gold lacquer to highlight imperfections, rather than hide them. The process is called kintsugi. Today’s UK society seems to celebrate “same-ism” and perceived perfection. If we too celebrated imperfections we would be living in a very different place, perhaps where many more people felt happy in their own skin.

One Myofascial Release treatment on a client with Scoliosis. You can see how the right winged scapular has moved back and down:- look at the positioning of the inferior angle of the scapular against the bra strap). The position of the left scapular has also improved. Also notice the vasomotor response. The client felt “much more upright & lighter”. I 💙 my work. We are privileged as bodyworkers to be able to facilitate such change. Myofascial Release courses on our website.

The wisdom of Hippocrates, often referred to as the "Father of Medicine" in recognition of his lasting contributions to the field. As practitioners we know the importance of “rubbing”, with healthy joints comes healthy movement, which prevents compensatory patterns through the body. 🌟✨

Wonderful progressive bodywork training by intuitive and supportive tutors

Studying the Complete Bodyworker Diploma with the School of Bodywork was a great experience. The tutors are passionate about their subjects and very supportive which I found invaluable as I was completely new to the subject. The way the theory and practical aspects of the course were taught side by side gave me a really good understanding. The learning environment is relaxed and comfortable – making it a joy to learn. After 9 months I gained not only the Complete Bodyworker Diploma but also the confidence to start my own massage therapy business. I highly recommend the School of Bodywork and have since continued to my learning experience with them by undertaking the MFR Diploma.

I would recommend the School of Bodywork to anyone considering a career move into the therapeutic world. As a secondary school teacher, I was consistently impressed by the quality and depth of resources provided to support students through their Diploma in Anatomy and Physiology. My exam results arrived this morning and I have passed all parts of the exam with flying colours! I have been exceptionally well supported throughout the course both on a personal and a professional level. Its been a privilege to work alongside professional therapists who find real joy in their work and I am so looking forward to the next chapter... Remedial Massage! Thank you Emma, Sarah, Ruth, Joy and Belle for sharing your passion for therapeutic touch across the Complete Bodyworker course.

User

I loved the complete bodyworker diploma. All the tutors are approachable and willing to help with anything regarding my learning. Going to class was something I looked forward to. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to become a massage therapist.

User

I have studied the complete bodywork course, Indian head massage and myofascial release with the school of bodywork. The teaching is second to none, and with all the support I received I now have a thriving business of my own.

A big thank you to Emma Gilmore.

I have only recently moved to Exeter and it was lovely to find this friendly, buzzing massage school on my doorstep. I have recently started teaching short courses there and look forward to teaching a full day on aromatherapy on 15th June. The tutors are all highly knowledgeable and the courses seem to attract an enthusiastic and holistically minded bunch of students, who are keen to learn It is a pleasure to visit.

User

Having just completed the Complete Bodyworker course at the School of Bodywork I would definitely recommend it to anyone considering becoming a massage therapist. The lessons are so detailed and full of information it is simply fascinating, the tutors take the time to ensure that everyone is comfortable with each area before moving on the the next and if needed are happy to go back over previous things if needed. I felt incredibly supported throughout my journey to becoming a therapist and even now that I have my results it is comforting to know that I can always ask the School of Bodywork for advice.

User

Fantastic courses - in depth & practical content delivered by inspiring teachers. I completed the Complete Bodywork Diploma here back in 2013 & have been working in a profession I love ever since! If you're looking for a career change, do it here - the post grad courses are fabulous too! ✨✨✨✨✨

User
