We had a wonderful celebration of Mike Kendall's new FRS status on Saturday aboard The Matthew - a replica of the Tudor caravel sailed by John Cabot from Bristol to Newfoundland in 1497. A fitting venue for Mike, who moved from the UK to Canada when he was 1! ⚓️🇨🇦🥂

Using two partially fragmented fossil skulls, Palaeobiology undergraduate student, Sofia Chambi-Trowell, has published a paper based on her final-year project that reconstructs the skulls of two Late Triassic reptiles, one of which had been previously known only from its jaws. Clevosaurus was a lizard-like reptile first named back in 1939 from specimens found at Cromhall Quarry, near Bristol. http://bit.ly/2GIwEEl
Nice work Sofia! 🦕🦖
