Scientists For Health And Economic Resilience

About Scientists For Health And Economic Resilience

The Scientists for Health and Economic Resilience is a forward-thinking group comprising complementary talents. Its objective is to generate a priority white paper (and provide subsequent advice and expertise) for the UK government to develop a British based COVID-19 recovery strategy and health resilience platform. This aims to minimise impacts of future national health issues arising from both infections and chronic disease burdens. This will be designed to detect, stop and mitigate any future pandemic, be it microbial or viral, and hence prevent it from crashing the British way of life, prevent unnecessary suffering and death and aid the future growth of our economy. It will also address health, social and economic issues arising from chronic health conditions especially in the ageing population, to mitigate population risk factors and improve health resilience across the board. It is envisaged that such a platform will also add substantially to the high-value bioscience economy of the UK, by some measures, the second largest in the world.
