Develop your inclusive play practice and increase your confidence in including disabled young people in your activities.
The workshop will relate play theories to inclusive practice and discuss practical tips to include disabled children in all your activities. Delivered by equality trainer Mole Chapman, the workshop is aimed at activity providers, play workers and leisure providers and will cover the following areas: • Identifying barriers • Inclusive play... • Legislation • Risk • Good practice • Family relationships and working with parents • Equality and diversity • Respectful language
This training is aimed at groups and activity settings such as out of school clubs, sports and leisure activities. Scope are fully funding the training with the aim of increasing the choice of inclusive universal provision that disabled children and young people can access enabling them to have fun activities whilst parents have a short break from caring.
Our funding comes from Leeds Short Breaks and Scope are commissioned to increase the availability of universal short breaks for disabled children and their families.
Activity providers that come on the training are expected to undertake Scope's Quality Inclusion Mark and further develop their inclusive practice. contact us for more information and to book a place -we can allow activity settings to book upto 2 places per group so they can cascade the training to their colleagues.
