Mobile Shipwright services, including specialist sculling oars, paddles and new build punts.

As well as traditional shipwright services, including planking, decks, fit out, spars and general repairs, I build oars and boats. These may be dinghy oars or specialist sculling oars. Sculling is a subject of particular interest and I will go into more detail here.

Sculling boats was very common before I was born, I hear. When I became surrounded by boat people, it became clear that sculling was a simple and actually quite fast way to get a boat about. It also seems quite practical to stand up, look forward and talk to your passengers whilst moving them forwards.

At Scullywag, I aim to design and make perfect equipment to suit your requirements in the hope and ambition that, with a lot of work and enthusiasm, sculling will grow into a popular UK sport and common practice in yachting. In order to see this happen and to be there when it does, we will endeavour to be present to help teach and provide equipment wherever possible.
