Went today with my hubby and a 2 children (4 and 10) i must say the place is amazing, as it was a birthday treat for one of my children we brought the behind the scene tour. It was amazing the staff member was so knowledgeable and even saw us as we went round and was so friendly. The other staff around were so friendly. Having got a buggy with me was no issue all areas could get too. The picture taken was fab and did buy it. One thing i would say i wish there was more than 1 toilet, its not helpful only having one at beginning

User

We always have to visit a sealife centre where ever we are, as my son LOVES sea turtles and this one was the best experience! Lulu & Gulliver are beautiful and we were very lucky to have close contact with them on the glass bottom experience . Would definitely re visit ! One very happy little future marine biologist

User

I never ever get bored with sea life I've been bringing my kids here since they were little my husband and I come here for our anniversary every year love the glass bottom boat still go here with my kids who are older now they also still love it here as well it's a great place

User

I don’t understand the negative comments and low ratings. We came today with our 11 and 3 year old. It’s one of the best aquariums we have been to. We drove over an hour to visit. Would highly recommend. Lots to see and look at. My girls loved it!!! We were there for over 4 hours. They loved the stingrays and sharks. In fact we spent 27 minutes just in the tunnel watching sharks swim over us. Low level tanks with a step so little people can easily see. It’s bright and colourful where it can be. Will defo be coming to visit again.

User

Have not been to your sea life centre for 2 years but came yesterday the 23rd August and still absolutely loved it. The highlight for me were the turtles they are absolutely gorgeous. My daughter loved the sting rays. Only down side was we couldn't do the glass boat ride as it meant we would have to wait 3 hours (we didn't have enough time due to car park). Can I also say a big big thank you to the lovely lady who helped us with the photos (the one's you get done as you come in) her name was Eudalia, my friend and I just couldn't decide which ones to get.. She was very patience with us. I went to the gift shop while the photos were being prepared and she came and gave them to me. Such good customer service. Lovely lady. All in all great day

User

Fantastic day out for kids & adult, activities for the kids were brilliant they loved going round & getting their book stamped, all the staff are great very helpful if you need anything, the talks are brilliant as well very interesting for the kids to learn all about our oceans & the animals that live in them, highly recommend this to everyone for a great day out

User

Came with my friend and her children. We loved everything. Ive been to london aquarium many times and feel brighton has just as good things to offer. The glass bottom boat was great seeing the turtles and stingray under the boat. I feel the tickets are great value. As for 5 of us and train tickets is the price i would pay for 2 just to get to london alone. Worth it in every way the lights in the great hall are beautiful.

User

I took my Grandchildren yesterday and they loved it. I thought it was expensive, and having been to other Aquariums abroad, a little disappointing. It was smaller than I had expected given the price and some tanks were rather dark and murky. However, it is always wonderful to see these amazing creatures. The children loved the tunnel and especially the rays. They also loved the rock pool and being able to touch things. All in all it was a good day.

User

Great for somewhere to go when the weather is less than ideal, only downside to that plan being when the queue is backing up you have to wait out in the rain. Good kids activities and lots of different zones. Glass bottom boat tour was better than expected as well. Recommend a visit if in the area

User

Great Family day out. Negatives were the glass bottom boat was good but over priced, £2 pp is maximum it’s worth not £20 for the 5 of us. All staff very friendly and helpful except Chantelle, very unpleasant manor. Shame she ruined the visit for the children.

User

On first impressions it has the wow factor with its arched domed ceilings and beautiful lighting, but dont be fooled thats about as exciting as it gets. My 3 year old was so excited to go to the Sealife centre and we have been told that Brighton is one of the top ones. To pay £16 for each adult I was expecting a lot more than what we got, and then the glass bottom boat ride was extra to go on, and behind the scenes tour was extra too, not impressed. Although my son loved running around looking in the different tanks there was nothing to help engage him with looking for longer, the only thing he could do was the rock pools where he could touch the star fish, the member of staff there was really good she was very informative and talked to my son. She made it fun, kept it simple but he was learning and he was happy to stay there for ages just looking in the water. It's a shame there isn't more of these dotted around the centre to help smaller children to learn more. There is nothing else interactive not even a button to press or a video to watch. I was trying to read the boards with the information on but it just wasn't at a level suitable for my son's age to keep him interested. 45 minutes later we were done, we were too late for one of the shows but I doubt that would of been suitable for my son anyway. It was just such a shame, he is at an age where he wants to learn and is curious about everything but you just haven't provided the resources for preschoolers to be able to learn it needs to be fun, it needs to be exciting, it needs to be interactive, and it needs to be engaging. You need more staff with hands on activies as the one thing my son did learn about were the star fish! At the price we paid for what we got out of it we won't be going back.

User

Lovely aquarium, nice atmosphere but extortionate prices. I booked online for the parent & toddler £14. Not bad value but that is all it is worth at the most (£7 each) not £19 as advertised inside anyway when we arrived we were told the tunnel, sharks and turtles were not available (I wouldn’t of booked if I had known) so it took me and my daughter 25 minutes to see everything. He mentioned we could see some sharks and rays for £4 extra each.... don’t think so. Behind the scenes tour more money also. I personally think for the amount you charge that all should be included. We were then forced into a photograph which at the end they make you see and then even that is near on £15-£20??? How can they get away with it...I wouldn’t go back anytime soon. Would cost a fortune!!!!!

User

A very expensive hour and half even with the on line booking discount. Probably better for children but even so. We paid £75 after pre booking on line and I would have been really really unhappy had we paid full price. The worst sea life centre I have visited and would definitely not return.

User

Visited with my 3 children aged 11, 8 and 8. Whilst they did like it the centre is very overpriced. We had a 40% off voucher but it still cost £45 which is a lot of money for something that took no more than 30 minutes. At full price this would've cost me £76 which is extortionate for a place where there isn't much to do. I should add that the price also does not include the behind the scenes tour (additional £3 each) or the glass bottomed boat (additional £4 each). Both extra charges are indicated on the website and whilst this would have prolonged our visit I declined to pay an additional £28! I also declined to pay the £20 for the green screen photo taken on the way in! I made my kids walk round a second time to 'get my money's worth' but they moaned as they had 'already seen everything!' I have marked it as 'fair' as they did like it but as a parent I felt it overpriced. If you have a spare £124 for the full experience then feel free! Oh and of course there is a gift shop on the way out as there always is so you can feel like a crap parent for not putting your hand in your pocket further! 😂

User

The building is really unique and creates a lovely atmosphere but it didn't take long to walk around. Most exhibits looked tired and many were empty. We had merlin passes otherwise it would have cost us £64 to get in and I would have been very disappointed. I've been to lots of other aquariums with nicer staff and better tanks. As much as I love Brighton I don't think I'll be in a hurry to return.

User

We took our 3 year son today and were very disappointed. I was went when I was about 9 and in the 30 years not much has changed other than lighting. We were not impressed that a 3 year old is the same cost as an adult. Utterly ridiculous. First of all it seemed impressive with rainbow lighting but it seemed dirty as you walked through. The tanks wete depressingly small. The only interactive thing for our son to do was a little pool. We did the glass bottom boat. The place was utterly sweltering and very oppressive with no natural light. Again the pool was very small for all those fish. It was very cramped getting in and out and just a bit depressing. When we got back into the main bit after walking through the cramped tunnel it smelt overwhelmingly of sick. We took the buggy with us throughout as we didn't feel it was safe to leave it in the buggy park- which isn't even sign posted. I also think it's completely inappropriate to have the baby changing facilities out in the open at the toilets for everyone to see your child as they get changed. We felt very pressured to get a photo as we obviously hadn't spent enough hard earned money. And then to get in and out of the centre is ridiculous to go under the road, up the slope, along the promenade and over the road! Very poor experience and very disappointing. Think it's the worst thing we have ever taken our son to and experienced.

User

Waste of money when 25% of it shut and still charging full price with not clear advising on website

User

Visited the other day and would rate it 1/10, I myself didn't enjoy it which I'll explain later on but girlfriend loved the eels they were the first big slithery thing she's seen in years anyway moving on I've got a bone to pick with all of you... do you think it's right that Brighton sea life centre is getting away with blatant false advertisement... how can you call it SEA life centre and then have a load of carp fish in the tanks, carp fish come from lakes not the sea and if you ask me I've had enough of the stress of trying to tell people different

Anyway happy V day you beautiful people and don't take your girlfriends to the sea life centre because they're full of shit

And I know what I'm talking about because I watch river monsters on Netflix back to back

User

How disappointing! A 200 mile journey for a lovely trip to Brighton and thought we would include the Sea Life centre whilst here. Man on the checkout said they accepted Tesco vouchers, rummaged around to find them and then he said he didn't accept them once presented to him. We declined all the additional extras he was trying to sell us and then said it was nearly £50 for myself, my three year old and an OAP to look around! How can you justify charging us all the same price? Needless to say we walked out the place and went elsewhere. Am sure my son would get as much enjoyment looking at fish for sale in the garden centre for free.

User

Great for somewhere to go when the weather is less than ideal, only downside to that plan being when the queue is backing up you have to wait out in the rain. Good kids activities and lots of different zones. Glass bottom boat tour was better than expected as well. Recommend a visit if in the area

Great Family day out. Negatives were the glass bottom boat was good but over priced, £2 pp is maximum it’s worth not £20 for the 5 of us. All staff very friendly and helpful except Chantelle, very unpleasant manor. Shame she ruined the visit for the children.

A very expensive hour and half even with the on line booking discount. Probably better for children but even so. We paid £75 after pre booking on line and I would have been really really unhappy had we paid full price. The worst sea life centre I have visited and would definitely not return.

Waste of money when 25% of it shut and still charging full price with not clear advising on website
