...and then if you thought volunteering had to be all outside your day job, you couldn't be more wrong!
Every year we get loads of local and national companies helping out with volunteering days - painting, gardening, taking people on day trips, there's all sorts!

We especially want to thank all our trustees this #NationalVolunteerWeek. They give up so much of their time to help guide SeeAbility and we appreciate it immensely.
One of the best things about them is how much they really care about everything we do. Here's Gordon (in the orange), our Chairman, who cycled to every one of our services last summer to raise funds for our work. We love having you all around!

If you were to pick one volunteering opportunity from this list, which would you go for?
Are you an outdoors, dig-for-England, gardening maestro? 🌳🌹💐
Or are you more of a home-made, bake-it-til-you-make-it cookery connoisseur? 🍨🥧🥖

Today we celebrated our Tandem Club volunteers - these heroes take visually impaired people out and about on bikes. They've been doing it for years!
Despite the rain, they even went out today, and we celebrated their contributions with tea and cake. You guys are volunteer heroes! ü¶∏‚Äç‚ôÇÔ∏èü¶∏‚Äç‚ôÄÔ∏èüö¥‚Äç‚ôÄÔ∏èü ö¥‚Äç‚ôÇÔ∏è

The great thing about volunteering is that you can find new friends who share your interests! Our volunteers pursue all sorts of hobbies with the people we support. Here's a few volunteer opportunities we've got advertised at the moment:
Love football? ⚽️ Take someone we support to a game: https://bit.ly/2XyTqmC
Classic film fanatic? 🎬 We know someone who's after a black-and-white film companion: https://bit.ly/2WlZZYz

Our volunteers are essential to everything we do at SeeAbility. They can give the people we support the opportunities to get out and about, doing things they never thought possible.
Martin's one of our volunteers, who took Ivan on a two week holiday to Switzerland! He organised the whole holiday on the Glacier Express, travelling past glaciers, pine forests, mountains and a cheeky trip to the local chocolate factory.
Ivan loved every minute. He said “I am lucky to have Marti...n as a volunteer to take me on holiday, I have always wanted to do the Glacier express and now I have!”

Think your skillset doesn't lend itself to volunteering?
Think again.
Our volunteers help out in all sorts of ways, in teams across SeeAbility. Here's Bernard, who's been volunteering in our finance department for two days a week. He's getting new skills to kickstart a finance career, and we're getting an extra hand on deck. üéâ Win-Win üéâ
