At Seedlings we believe that young children learn best without the pressure of formal teaching or testing. Instead the children learn valuable skills through real life experiences during creative free play, as well as through teacher led domestic and creative activities such as baking, painting and seasonal crafts. Songs, rhymes and stories provide the children with a rich experience of language, and in this way, the children build a solid foundation for more formal learning later on.

Welcome back to the Autumn Term at Seedlings!

We have been attending weekly parent and child groups at Katie’s Kindergarten for over a year now. We travel from south of Norwich to go to the group, which is testament to how special it is.



Katie was born to do this work and puts so much love and thought into it. The space she has created is beautiful, with attention to all the details such as flowers and crafts to mark the changing seasons as we move through the year.



The circle time with gentle songs, and the shared snack around a table altogether, with candle and words of gratitude, are lovely things for young children to experience. The natural toys for imaginative play and the structure of the session make the atmosphere very relaxed for the parents as well as the children. A rare thing to find in a toddler group!



I would recommend Seedlings to anyone. Even if you have no previous knowledge of Steiner education, or live some distance away. Don’t think twice about getting in touch with Katie and trying the group out, you won’t regret it!

My son and I started the parent and child group over a year ago, we have always felt extremely welcome, the environment is calm and nurturing, I very much enjoyed the craft every week for the adults and miss seeing friends we have made there. We no longer attend the parent and child group as my son has started at the seedlings kindergarten, Katie has been a great support all through the parent and child group and now for both me and my son at the kindergarten. Katie made a great effort to ensure my son transitioned into the kindergarten with ease, he now counts the sleeps every week until he can go back to kindergarten and see his friends. As a Mama I couldn’t be happier with the level of care he receives, the yummy nutritious food he eats and the activities and toys he gets to play with. I would recommend this kindergarten to anyone looking for a calm, nurturing and attentative setting for their children to enjoy.

My son and I have started attending the group recently and are very lucky to participate in the great atmosphere in that lovely space Katie has created. My son, who has loads of energy comes home calmer. I don t know how much longer we will be able to attend as the group is so far away for us, but I couldn't t recommend it more!
