Welcome to Şelale Restaurant, in the heart of Medway at 78 High Street Chatham ME4 4DS
Our dishes will transport your tastebuds to another place somewhere in the Mediterranean Regions.
Located just a stone's throw from the River Medway, and easy access for disabled diners. Şelale has become a local favourite due to its friendly atmosphere, its 'holiday feel' and its positively delicious menu. Chatham has plenty of places to dine out but as with much Mediterranean cuisine, it's the range of ingredients on the menu at Şelale that impresses. Seafood is prominent, but with a great range of cold and hot starters, including a cold meze starter prepared for 1-2 or 3-4 persons. chargrilled mains and vegetarian dishes, chargrilled aromatic meat, fish and vegetable dishes and crispy greek salads, freshly baked pitta's, cold meze dips and so much more. from Turkey, Greece, Spain and Cyprus there really is something for all tastes and appetites.
The starters menu lists tantalising treats such as crab claws deep fried in breadcrumbs served with tartare sauce and muska borek - moreish parcels of filo pastry filled with cheese and spinach and shallow fried. Mains include succulent meat dishes like Islim - large, boneless chunks of lamb topped with fried aubergine slices, tomato and peppers, baked in a light sauce and served with rice and classic chicken brochettes, perfectly marinated and chargrilled on the skewer with onions and peppers.
Fish dishes include the paella a la Valencia and the chargrilled swordfish steak. With dishes such as the fried aubergine moussaka with courgettes, carrots, potatoes and brown lentils topped with cheese sauce, this is definitely a place for vegetarians. Complete your meal and treat yourself to dessert, apricots and cream sprinkled with nuts, Baklava, Chocolate or vanilla ice cream, cakes. Whether for some meze, a light salad or a feast, Şelale guarantees an authentic Mediterranean dining experience.
Şelale Restaurant can serve up to 60 people at it's prime location in Chatham, Kent and is a fully licensed restaurant and serves the popular Efes Turkish beer by pilsner.
At Şelale Restaurant we are very warm, and friendly, always bringing you the very best in dining experiences. Şelale Restaurant, as far as your taste buds go, might as well be located deep in the valleys amongst pine trees and waterfalls.
We open 7 days a week and All Day Sundays.

This restaurant is a family run business by Father & Son. We dine here very frequently and have never been disappointed. The only hardship we have is deciding what to eat as everything on the menu is wonderful.
We came for my birthday last year as a group of 10, and every single one of us was blown away by our meals. Amazing flavours, cooked to perfection and beautifully presented. Oh and the prices are surprisingly great, especially considering the portion sizes! The waiter was there as soon as you needed him but didn't hover around at all, left us to enjoy the meal and the company. Everybody was very friendly and welcoming too. I'm gutted I haven't had a chance to come back yet but plan to very soon!
We arrived early but they had space which changed quickly! Great service great fish (grilled sardines amazing) - recommend!
Regular place for us - always quality food and service. Work your way through the menu, you won't be disappointed!
My second visit, hubby's first- for his birthday. Gorgeous food and lots of it. Between us we had chicken kebabs, mixed grill, kleftico, mousakka with side salad and rice. All well presented, beautifully cooked and very tasty. Clean, welcoming and good value for money. Looking forward to our next visit!
My other half stated that his starter of mussels in a cream sauce was the best starter he has ever had!!!! The food is outstanding and so is the service. Will definitely be coming back.
My other half and I have dined here many times and we are never disappointed. The service, food and atmosphere is perfect every time. Can't wait for our next visit.
