Christmas Closing
Dear Customers,
End of year is looming and we need to inform you our closing days for the upcoming holidays.
... We will be closed on the following dates;
Mon 17 December 2018 ~ Tue 2 January 2019
It is to carry out plumbing and electrical works in the kitchen and basement. And to give staff some family time after that (as we will do the works ourselves...)
We apologize in advance for the inconvenience. We do hope though the maintenance works will lay a better platform for improvements in the future.
Open as usual until Sun 16 Dec so please come in.
Thank you Annyong.

Valentine’s Day and Booking
This winter is unusually long and cold, good enough to bid for the Winter Olympics. I appreciate those who have been waiting outside when we were full house, be it in rain, in hail, in storm.
We are a tiny, walk-in only, restaurant/eatery and we do not take table bookings. But as many will make the Valentine’s Day a special occasion and Manchester apparently is going to be Siberia tomorrow. We will take table bookings to minimise the possible wait... outside and casualties.
To book a table please FB message or phone 0161 2735556. We will need; name, No. of person(s) and a phone number. We will take 3 reservations per hour, leaving the rest to regulars and walk-ins.
As (the great) Jay Rayner puts it, our shop is a hybrid of extreme discomfort and soups that are good enough to be prescribed at pharmacies. It is a bit of a squeeze, but we will cook good food in return to make up for it.
BYOB continues for Raynerians. Tesco is 50 yards away and stocked up some good beers and wines. There are openers and glasses in the shop you can use. Corkage charge is £1 per head and we politely ask for a maximum stay of one and half hours.
Kitchen had given some thought but concluded that we do not possess special abilities to create special dishes for Valentine’s Day so… we shall focus on what we do well.
An umbrella, and possibly a torch, will be provided for customers having a journey to the toilet and we will try and cover the signage with plastic films to provide some sort of shelter should there be a wait outside.
And finally...
Dear our regular customers, don’t be too surprised or put off by the sudden appearance of candles, chocolates, mellow music etc. We still own the place and the place is yours.
It's just one day.
Thank you Annyong

Christmas and New Years Closing 18 Dec ~ 8 Jan
I would like to say thank you to all customers who have been coming to the shop in this freezing cold weather. I hope the food was to your taste and your journey was worthwhile
... I’m afraid the Christmas closing period will be quite long this year. As the shop grew older so did the Seoul Kimchi family and the elder son is expecting a baby at the end of year. Unlike his wedding when we closed for three hours and reopened (serving in his tuxedo), we will close the shop this time a week or so either side of the due date. We apologise for any inconvenience it may cause. Merry Christmas.

KITCHEN STAFF Wanted (part 2...)
Join our team. We are a diligent, friendly group of youngsters cooking mainly Korean food on Upperbrook Street. You don't need to be Korean to work in our kitchen. I would welcome anyone with a good work ethic, stamina and curious mind -in fact we have proudly represented 18 nations so far.
Seoul Kimchi has enjoyed a healthy growth over the years serving Manchester and beyond. Customers have been very supportive and patient with our progress... and I believe we have attained higher standards. Now, we need extra hands to reach even greater heights and that is where you come in.
A warning though. It is a hard work and can be strenuous. Tasks will involve a lot of hand movements, (stream of) washing ups, heavy lifting, vegetable/meat preparation etc.
Full-time 10:00-16:00, Monday-Friday Part-time 11:00-15:30 or 17:00-21:30
Shifts can be negotiated Apply via the form below

Temporary Closure
Due to illness in family and myself, I'm afraid we will be closed for about a month. We tried to push it through the summer but the illness was ongoing thing and as the pressure is piling up to the family and staff, It got to a point a drastic action is needed.
The shop has enjoyed a healthy growth over the years and we won't be here as we are now without your support.
... But for now, I think I need to focus on the treatments and family's well-being and give our selves best effort to strike balance between the shop and health.
Apologies for any inconvenience that I may have caused.
I'll target 14th August as reopen and serve you better food then.
Thank you

Wonderful place, excellent food really friendly staff, great quick service too!

User

What a fabulous little place! The food was outstanding and the staff were so polite, smiley and friendly. We tried the bulgogi meal for two which came with jeon, japchae, salad, rice and ice cream. This was loads of food for two, but we also added a portion of Korean Fried Chicken to that just because we really wanted to try it. Thank you for a lovely meal and if you want to relocate to Glasgow for me, I would be very happy!

User

We will be back for more!!! A tiny place but great food.

Best come early to beat the rush.

User

We had booked a table & arrived to a crowd outside all waiting to be seated.

Small corkage for the wine from the Tesco down the road & we ordered plenty. Really fresh & tasty, staff were really helpful, loved it!!!

User

I love this place, food, atmosphere and staff are all wonderful! It is definitely a hidden gem in this area of Manchester! I have never had a bad meal or experience in this place. Please don't change!! You guys make people and their stomachs very happy!!

User

Firstly this place is tiny and cosy

The place could be in the backstreets of New York or San Francisco

Yet it's in Manchester perfect

The open kitchen dining is rather special and adds a welcome feel

The food is very varied from typical Korean bouncing to Japanese bento boxs

Loads of choice

We ate numerous dishes few Coke colas and a green tea

£32.00 ..

The owner a delightful lady came over and chatted about her history and the places development

She was a absolute delight

Will be coming back again ...

User

Fantastic food and atmosphere. Would definitely visit again.
