We are still sailing when the weather permits and this morning before Jimmy and Chris left the harbour they had to clean the deck as it was a little bit frozen. It was still a lovely day and whats a bit of ice when you have the Farnes to look forward too.
If you are visiting the area over the next few weeks and over the Christmas period then we will be sailing at 11am, 12.30pm and 2pm if the weather lets us.

We are very proud to announce that we won the Gold Award for Guided Tour of the year 2018. What a way to end a great year and if it was not for all the staff who work so hard i dont think we would have won this. So on that note i would like to say a huge thank you from myself and Toby for all your help this year.

HMS Ascot was the last ship to sink to sink in WW1. Why not read about it in our new blog post.

1st November was a great start for us. We had Bottlenose Dolphins for the 2nd day on the trot which was fantastic. Enjoy.

User

This was 2 days on the trot with Bottlenose Dolphins. What a way to start the month and we also spotted a puffin too

The Farne Islands is known for the thousands of seabirds that come here for the breeding season and sometimes we forget about the Atlantic Grey Seals so here is a little video of why scuba divers come from far and wide to dive with the seals.

From everyone at Serenity we would like to congratulate Jimmy and Jane on their new born child.
Im Jimmy's words...... After an early start this morning, Jane and I finally got to meet Elias James Reid at 2am. He's healthy and happy and so is Jane Marie Reid. He gave us a bit of a scare and was delivered via emergency c-section but at 10 pounds, one ounce he saved Jane a fair bit of time in labour! We'll have him home in a couple of days and then the showing off will begin!!!

User

It was a little bit choppy this morning but Tony and Jimmy managed to see some dolphins which is an added bonus for the lucky few onboard.

User

This is a must watch video and how they should be seen, not being slaughtered to line some rich businessman's pocket. The poeple on this boat will have this memory imbedded in their brains for the rest of their lives and be taked about for years to come but if some countries continue to kill every whale, dolphin, elephant or rhino the next generation will have to rely on videos like this to see something special. Please stop killing our wonderful and fascinating world.

User

Our blog has been updated once again and a big well done to Tony and Jimmy from everyone at Serenity

Wonderful trip around the Farne Islands early this afternoon. The weather being wet, windy and the sea a bit choppy yet the family came off the boat very happy. I've been involved with boats since I was 11 (39 now) and worked at sea for 20 years so I always take a keen interest in the boat handling aspect as well as the wildlife around the islands. Really impressed with everything, can't fault it and highly recommended.

User

What can we say? We are just off the boat and IŌĆÖm still grinning from ear to ear at the beauty of the trip. We were also so well informed by the staff who couldnŌĆÖt do enough to make the cruise so special. Probably the best ┬Ż15 IŌĆÖve ever spent for 90 minutes of pure entertainment. Our 2 year old Daughter Heidi absolutely loved the birds and seals!Thank you guys, youŌĆÖve made our day one weŌĆÖll not forget.

User

We've been out a few times with Serenity now and they are fantastic. Commentary is really informative without being obtrusive and they really get you in close to see some of the amazing things that the Farne Islands have to offer. Can't recommend them highly enough.

User

We went on the one and half hour tour on Saturday at 2.45 with our 6 year old girl! We had Chris come round to the side of the boat and tell us he would come get us if he thought we missed anything! What a lovely trip we had, we saw puffins and seals and even a baby seal sunbathing ’┐Į! We will definitely use serenity again on our next visit! Lovely commentary and great service xxx

User

We had a great trip on Tuesday 12th June out to the Farne Islands, very smooth ride on the catamaran and staff make sure you are safely boarded .They point out all the birds as we sail closely by the islands and we then spent an hour on Inner Farne .You need to have a hat or a hood on your coat as the terns dive bomb you as you arrive and they are sitting on eggs or have small chicks to protect.

There is a boardwalk around the island and the puffin burrows are very close so you get a good view.

It was another thing ticked off my bucket list and I would love to return...

Thank you to all involved with Serenity ’┐Į

User

Serenity have the best boats for the Farne Islands excursion ..... new catamarans which are very stable and even have a toilet on board. The whole trip is fantastic .... a must do if you are in the area. The boats can get so close to the nesting seabird colonies and the 1 hour stop-over on Staple Island (free for National Trust members) is surreal ...... you walk among the nesting birds who largely ignore you except for the Arctic Terns which will attack you in defence of their nests. I never expected to get so close to the birds and it was a delight. I will make the same trip when I next visit the Nortnumberland coast.

User

IŌĆÖve lived in the area for fifteen years and never once been to the Farne Islands.... I just wanted to say a big thank you to Andrew and Chris for making it so enjoyable. Vast knowledge - but itŌĆÖs not your average boat trip. They are so passionate about wildlife, the area and the conservation work too. Top marks and I feel like coming again tomorrow!! I have some beautiful photos from the evening. Thank you for the memories! :)

User

Ive just got back from a wonderful Sunset Cruise with the crew of Serenity II. Chris the deckhand was extremely attentive and made sure everyone on the trip was comfortable - giving out coats, blankets and hot water. Andrew the Skipper provided fantastic commentary throughout, taking us up close to all of the wildlife and had excellent local knowledge. The whole experience was first class! Would definitely recommend to others.

User

I would highly recommend this boat tour, really helpful and friendly. Dogs allowed to. Really quick to reply to emails. Enjoyed getting up close to the birds and seals. Managed to get my mum aboard without any problems. She wants to go again. I could have stayed all day. Thank you to the amazing and informative crew. Our family had a great time.

User

I can't recommend the crew of the Serenity boats enough. We booked in on Saturday and were so impressed we booked for the Sunday too! The boats are fantastic, stable and comfortable with the added benefit of toilet facilites which is perfect for anybody concerned about the trip. The team on-board were very knowledgeable and ensured everybody got the most out of the trip. The team even handed out the odd blanket and jumper for any cold passengers during the journey to the islands. We can't wait to return later in the year for another tour.

User

Having done some research on boat companies prior to arriving in Seahouses I am delighted that my family loved our evening trip round the islands in Tuesday. We were blessed with the most perfect sunset and our excursion was extended to allow us to watch the sunset over Bamburgh Castle.

User

Had an outstanding experience with this company today. I would recommend them to anyone looking to do a tour of the Farne Islands. Booked onto the 14.45 tour today at the last minute at the kiosk. Lady in the kiosk was very friendly and chatty. The crew met us and greeted us on board the boat which was clean and comfortable. Crew were outstanding throughout the trip moving among the passengers and making them feel comfortable. The tour was fantastic with many different types of birds seen and seals as well. The Captain (Andrew I think) was very knowledgeable and his boat handling skills were amazing. He got us to nearly within touching distance of the wildlife and manoeuvred the boat so everyone got great views. The tour was advertised as taking approximately one and a half hours but actually lasted two hours. great service and value for money. Worth every penny and made our day. Many thanks.

User

Great trip, highly recommended

We did the sunset trip Tuesday 26th June, the lady in the booking kiosk was very jovial, great sense of humour, put a smile on our faces to start a brilliant trip. The amount of various bird life is incredible and never seen so many seal. Skipper (Andy) manouvered the boat as close as he could giving everyone on board the best views possible. I'd previously contacted Serenity as one of our party has mobility problems, no problem for them at all, very helpful and patient. On our return we were treated to a break in the cloud for a beautiful sunset, boat stopped in several spots for some great photo opportunities, great value for money, highly recommended.

User

Great trip with Serenity boats to the Farne Islands. The skipper was very informative and stopped the boat if there was anything interesting, the other crew member was also very helpful and kept us informed. The boat went in close to the islands so you could get a close look at all the birds and seals and turned the boat round so everyone could get a good view. The landing time was too short on the Inner Farne with all the Puffins and other birds to see. A great way to see the Farne Islands.

User

Fantastic afternoon with Serenity Boats - dolphin escort out of the harbour, loads of seals, seabirds , especially puffins that weŌĆÖve wanted to see for ages. Lots of information given during the trip. The hour in inner Farne went so quickly , it would be good to come back & spend more time there. I thoroughly recommend this trip ’┐Į

User

Enjoyed a 'sail around' tour of The Farne Islands this afternoon. When messaging Louise about possible booking she was able to give me quick and great advice about tours, times and prices. She was very professional and we received a friendly service. Upon arrival we were greeted by another kind employee who discussed meeting time and place for tour. Final sales lady took us to the boat and made us feel very safe and valued. The boat was extremely clean and comfortable. Skippy and his assistant were very knowledgeable and asked us if we were okay on many occasions. I would definitely recommend this company if you're thinking of visiting The Farne Islands. Thank you for a memorable afternoon Louise and Serenity staff. ’┐Į’┐Į’┐Į

User

Cannot recommend the Serenity Boat trips highly enough. They're catamaran boats, you can get so much closer to the rocks where the birds and seals are, without the extra cost of paying to land on one of the islands. Great friendly chaps on the boat and toilet facilities. The Sunset Cruise they offer is truly a fantastic experience. We were even fortunate enough to see some dolphins. Cannot wait for the next one!

As a keen photographer, my fianc├® had been planning a trip to the Farne islands for some time. From watching YouTube videos to research the best spots for photography in Northumberland, we came across Seahouses and the Farne islands. Three days just isn't enough, there is so much to see and do. We went on our first ever trip over to the islands yesterday to photograph the puffins. Wow! What an amazing time we had, absolutely loved every second. The skipper Andrew and his assistants Chris (I think) and I'm unsure of the other gentleman's name (sorry), were so informative, showing us the different rare birds and telling us facts about the island. They were also very kind giving people jackets and gloves to keep them warm, I can't believe how cold it actually was out there!! We enjoyed the trip so much, that as soon as we got back to the harbour, we booked the same trip for today (Sunday). An hour on the island just isn't enough, there's so much to see! When we went to pick our tickets up for the second trip, the kind lady gave us a bit of a discount for being returning customers which was nice. The gentlemen on the boat remembered us from yesterday and took the time to come over and talk to us about photography and asked us where we were from. Absolutely amazing experience from start to finish, can't thank you guys enough. This was our first but definitely not our last visit. Currently on our 5 1/2 journey back home now :-( Becca and Warren x
