Sew Happier Description
Have you always wished you could sew so you could make clothing and accessories for yourself, or some of those gorgeous craft projects you’ve seen on Pinterest? Perhaps you’ve dabbled with your sewing machine but would love to brush up or expand your skills. Sew happier is here to help!
We offer sewing sessions and workshops in craft and dressmaking for all budding sewers, beginners and experienced alike, with expert advice and instruction on hand at all times.
With a brand new, bespoke studio in the scenic Kyte Hotel, Darrington we are all about taking a little time out to relax and do something creative while learning new skills.
A little about me: I have a BA Hons in Fashion Design and industry background in design, development and garment technology working for some of the largest retailers on the high street. I’ve not only worked closely with factories all over the world to develop high quality garments but also done my time on the production line too. I certainly know my way around a sewing machine and am passionate about sewing and craft.

Things have changed a bit here at Sew Happier, the lure of the fashion industry and a regular wage was just too great and once again I was sucked back into a full time job. For the last 6months Ben Sherman have been the reciprocates of my skills and unfortunately despite missing my lovely sewing classes and workshop desperately, it’s apparent I just don’t have time to fit it all in 😟 As a last hurrah, and in the hope that I’ll be able to do keep up my own sewing obsession I did do my daughters school fayre last weekend. There were a few bits left over which I’ll post on here if anyone would like to buy them let me know! Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas! 🎄 💝 🎁

My gorgeous garden studio is sweltering this morning! I’ll be here this afternoon braving the heat and sewing away, would be great to see my usuals for their Wednesday afternoon fix but completely understand if you’d rather lay in the garden/hot tub with a long iced drink 🥤 ☀️ 😅
This weekend the Popstir and I took a little time out to indulge in one of our other creative joys - the joy of cake! We both entered Darrington’s Feast and Fayre cake contest and would you believe it we cleaned up! Lily won best looking for her owl cup cakes and my lemon and blueberry naked cake won best tasting 😋 shameless boost post but who doesn’t like cake 🍰

Still working on mastering the mirror selfie 🤳😬 but last week I managed to squeeze in a little selfish make using this bargain roll end fabric I picked up a few weeks ago. Pattern was adapted from a swing dress and was super easy to put together even with the added front lining - I love the straps at the back perfect for this gorgeous weather! ☀️

Did you know we offer a local ironing service here at Sew Happier and it costs less than you think to keep on top of your weekly stash! This full basket took less than 2hrs and we charge just £10 per hour so you never pay more than you need to.

So our latest batch of school uniform orders went out last week, was lovely working on some green and as the weather is looking good for a while they should get plenty of wear 😃☀️
Clever Mr M has finally finished my new shelves for the studio - can’t wait to fill them with lots of lovely fabric and supplies!
