Went and saw Motown The Musical on Monday 31st July, as surprise by my hubby.

Loved the show, and the staff were all friendly.

Lovely building.

Air conditioning was just right even in the back of the stalls.

Well can words really sum up my experience of Shaftesbury Theatre?? Probably not but I'll try.

Arrived at the exterior of the Shaftesbury Theatre ( The home of The Mowtown Musical) and I was blown away by the presentation of the building with the Mowtown crest taking the lime light and quite rightly so!

Absolutely amazing building!!

Inside the theatre we were met by the backstage staff who welcomed us to the theatre and checked our tickets. As we went in we bought official Mowtown programs for £7 and there was also anwell stocked purchandise stand with everything Mowtown.

The bar was reasonabably priced for London and offered a wide variety of beverages and snacks.

In the main theatre we took to our seats mesmerised by the infrastructure of the building and historical it all looked.

The production Mowtown was one of the best musicals I've ever ever seen and it is a msut go to see show !!

I would highly reccomend a visit to anyone who is interested in Mowtown and pleasure environments.

I know I will be back in the near future.

We booked tickets for the 30th of Dec to see the motown story being unfamiliar with London we arrived a little late I am disabled and the care and attention I received was first class so thank you all I would love to return sometime in the future but as we are from North Wales I don't know when that will be but it is on my bucket list

The theatre is beautiful inside and out. An amazing experience and the show, (the Motown story) was just simply spectacular. The actors worked so hard and succeeded in every part of the show, to capture the magic of Motown music perfectly. I can only thank them for giving us all such a fantastic evening. Everyone should see this incredible show.

User

Sat in the front row and pre warned re high stage and restricted leg room. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Fantastic production..loved all the songs I heard growing up..Marvin Gaye in particular as well as Barry and Diana stood out. Little Michael Jackson fabulous also. Would go again. XXX Thanks xxx

Motown the musical was absolutely fantastic, me and my sister took my mum for her birthday. What a beautiful theatre, only thing was the seating was a little uncomfortable, we didn't get to use the toiliets as the quest were long. The drinks are a little expensive but overall a great experience. I highly recommend you see Motown. Xx

User

Lovely theatre we chose seats at back of centre circle row N. It said restricted view but we had no problems seeing the show. Bar staff were efficient and all other staff friendly. Nice to be able to get outside for a bit of fresh air during the interval. Loved the Motown musical show. Well done to all a lovely afternoon out for our Anniversary.

I went to see Motown with my grandmother, and the people she lives with in a care home. Some members of the group have mobility issues, but the tickets booked were up on the top floor. Once the theatre learnt this, they did all they could to make sure that people who would have really struggled to get up the stairs had somewhere lower to sit. In particular, an employee named Ismael (I'm sorry if I have spelt that wrong) was very lovely to the whole group and did everything he could to make sure that they were comfortable, and remained incredibly friendly whilst arrangements were being made. A difficult situation was handled brilliantly, and for that, I applaud Shaftesbury Theatre.

User

An Excellent Theatre experience.

The seats we had were perfect and the staff at the theatre couldn't have been more helpful. We were shown to a bar that wasn't stuffed before the show and were very comfortable. As for the Show ? ... Brilliant ...

Thank you Shaftesbury Theatre ...xx

User

A beautiful theatre in the most iconic city in the world.

The exterior and interior of the theatre is breathtaking. The staff were all very friendly. Interval time wasn't the usual nightmare the staff worked quickly and efficiently to serve drinks and snacks out.

The shows was just amazing beyond words. I would definitely recommend.

User

Beautiful old theatre ūüé≠ been to many in London and this was as good as any.

The only criticism was the toilets in the stalls and the queue. If you want to get to the toilet and bar at the interval and are right of stage then you will struggle in the time given as people were queuing all along the back making it very hard to get through.

User

The show was fantastic, the cast were brilliant, but the staff at the theatre sucked all the fun out of it. We were told, in the foyer, very forcibly, that we could not sing along to any of the songs, as others had come to hear the play! This was reinforced by staff in the auditorium, who told us off for being too enthusiastic in our suppport of the cast, for standing up in our seats, and for singing along. Good job guys, not!

User

Wheres the legroom? This is an awful theatre for anyone above 5’8. Sooooooooo uncomfortable. My knees are shot. I would certainly not see another show in this theatre as a result.

User

Unfortunately had a very bad experience here, and the theatre don't seem to care, I love the theatre and often attend shows across the west end , I am careful not to book restricted view but my view was completely restricted with the large gold handrails, I have voiced my concerns and been brushed off, view in comments

User

Beautiful building but if you can’t afford the very best seats be prepared for your knees to be in pain. Disappointed. More leg room at a cinema.
