Shane'S On Canalside

Went there on New Year's Eve and it was definitely one of my favourite restaurants of 2016. Cocktails were fantastic, service was good, food was amazing, and the host Shane was lovely. Would totally recommend it and will be going back!

Went here for my sisters birthday and had a great night. Food was fantastic and they have a good selection and wines. Staff were really nice.

We had a massive group for our Christmas lunch over the weekend at Shane’s. Many venues have struggled in the past to manage the day. However, Shane and the staff executed everything perfectly!!!



Super accommodating and relaxed vibe. Everyone left full, very happy and some of us a little tipsy on the amazing cocktails. The food was divine.



Thank you, so much, for having all (65) of us. I’ve no doubt that we’ll be back!

Thanks for hosting us this evening for the life at IQL event. Food was amazing. The buttermilk pheasant was delicious. Definitely be returning to try more of the menu.

Lovely fresh food and friendly good service at this newly opened restaurant at Here East just next to the Olympic Park.A good range of local produce and foraged products (wild garlic etc) Exciting and changing menus offer one of a range of choices in this newly developed area.

I had a great day/night here with great friends. The elderflower prosecco mimosas were amazing as was the selection of gin. The food was great and the relaxed vibe and atmosphere made it even more enjoyable. I'll be back!!

Had my 40th Party at Shane by the Canalside it was a great night. Shane and his lovely staff could not have been more accommodating. What a fantastic venue with its indoor and outdoor space. We had hot food through the evening which was fresh and delicious and the party guests were very pleasantly surprised as was I. It's a great venue with a great atmosphere and I would highly recommend it if your are hosting an event. Thanks again Shane and your team for making my night a great one �.

Great bottomless brunch yesterday lovely atmosphere & good food especially the bloody Mary’s!!

Fantastic evening in a great location overlooking the canal. The food is superb and the soft shell crab burger in particular was sensational. Lovely atmosphere, great cocktails and super friendly staff.

Amazing staff, awesome foood! Your missing out if you don't try the steak! The desserts are define, definitely suggest the Eton mess it was soo nice � the dog wondering around was a lovely bonus �!

Amazing butchery class with Shane the main man! Wood pigeon, rabbit and deer, all hacked up by us, some more skilfully than others, then cooked by Shane for us all to enjoy! A fantastic evening, thoroughly recommended!

Very good food & service, the Kedgeree was good but could have been better, the rice wasn’t as good as I’ve had elsewhere.

Great coffee which you’d expect from a Kiwi establishment.

Great service and food, especially the fact that kids are catered for individually by having a smaller portion of anything on the menu. The sirloin steak with peppercorn sauce was amazing. Only reasons for not giving 5* is that other customers dogs were let loose (we are dog lovers but don’t want someone else’s begging for food!) and it feels a little like a dine and dash, whereas we like to hang around for hours!

Nice place and good relaxed vibe, quite busy when we went in there as our order (preferred) was all out of stock which is a positive because that means the business is busy

Staff were friendly ...yes we would return!

Being there in afternoon with friends, service was good beside that i needed to ask the bill twice. Elderflower bellini refreshing (but i didnt get the proper flowers inside), sipsmith gin was fine (previous order was hendricks which they ran out of)... but.. the sangria !!! Such a disappointment. Please improve on that and u will have a customer.

However, nice selection of food/small plates/brunch and very nice wine menu as well and not that expensive. Xx

The wines and beers on offer are great and the staff get 5 * but from then on the rating dips. When it comes to the reality of what arrives on the plate compared against the menu description, prepare for a bit of a disappointment.
