i love shanklin am obsessed with it ! have been since first coming here as achild ,i wouldnt want to stay anywhere else, the beach is stunning the chine a lovely peaceful retreat and amazing when it is lit up at night ,have recently come back from anther great holiday and had amazing weather

User

great place to go the crazy golf is slightly expensive to play but it good fun i think that £4.50 to park for up to 6 hours is great price to pay to shamw toiltes in arcade arent so clean will go again

User

We love Shanklin Seafront but were most disappointed to see the changes in the little Bayside Fish and Chip shop/cafe. We went on Saturday and waited for around 20 minutes for nothing more than chips... Staff are all young and customer service doesn’t seem to have been a priority in their training... Food was delicious but £2.20 for a tiny portion of chips? I was disappointed that I didn’t eat by the miniature golf where the prices were far more reasonable.

As it happens, the miniature golf is brilliant - do both courses for the best value.

We celebrated my daughters 5th birthday at Jungle Jim’s yesterday and we honestly had the best time, the staff were lovely and very helpful. The kids had an amazing time, the food was great the party bags were excellent and at such a good price, highly recommended

User

Visited bayside fish and chip cafe on second day of opening. Excellent food, great service, friendly and helpful staff. I will be returning very soon. Excellent value for money.

Shanklin is a small but magical place, it's great sitting out on the seafront and the eating facilities are far better than it's neighbour Sandown which has an different feel altogether . Yes Sandowns beach may be better, but you can't beat a walk up the chine or old town which is close to the beach . I do miss the pier though, that blew into the sea many years ago .

User

Quaint little place with the picturesque chine, coastal walks and seaside shops etc. Beach and promenade really clean and tidy. Chairs, wind breaks very reasonably priced but the crazy golf the most expensive I have ever come across. We have not bothered on many occasions - if it was affordable it might not be empty ?!?! Shame as looks good. Had a lovely time there. Delicious cream tea at the Pink Beach tearoom/guest house. Also had a drink at the Fisherman's by the chine. Didn't eat there but from what I could see it looked good. :)

User

Lovely family themed beach. We were to the left near the beach huts and live Sunday music!!! Very nice!!

Followed by mini golf and playtime at pirate cove! Well worth a visit!

User

Love Shanklin, so laid back and relaxing but plenty to keep you busy if you want. The Pirates Cove is ideal for young children, there is also the new Jurrasic Adventure Golf and the Chine is a lovely peaceful walk through a forest in the middle of a town! Great clean beaches and sea. A pleasant walk down the Sandown esplanade brings you to the Sandown Pier and then a little further on there is both the Dinosaur Exhibition and also the IoW Zoo housing both the magnificent white tiger and white lion. The zoo is also part of a propramme that rescues big cats from travelling circuses in Europe. I can't sing Shanklin's (and Sandown) praises enough.

User

I loved the Chine very beautiful and relaxing. There's a lovely crystal and fossil shop in the main town and some nice little shops. The sea front is very pleasant and nice to walk along. I recommend a visit.

User

Hired loungers, sun brolly for the day £9:50 and also hired a double pedalo for £12 4 seater is £15 for 1/2hour.

Lovely breach

Nice little beach hut to get a toasted sandwich, cold drinks and snack.

User

We liked it for the family day out on the beach, crazy golf a bit expensive but everything else pretty reasonable, go early if you want a parking space

User

ShankLin is gorgeous when the sun is shining.walked along the seafront on Thursday and the kids were really enjoying there day building sandcastles and risking hypothermia swimming in the sea. Cafes just off the sea front are really good value but need to hurry up waiting 45 mins for chips and sandwiches is ridiculous (you know who you are) crazy golf on the front looked so much fun but were empty cause the prices are ridiculous (sort yourselves out)

Had a great week despite the weather loved Harrys pub (I'm sure it's haunted ) took 11hours to get home by coach due to roadworks but heyho I wasn't driveing x

User

Lovely beach with sandy and stoney parts (up near the Fishermans Cottage pub just under the entrance to the Chine). We ate at the Steamer Inn huge portions and loads of gluten free options. A beautiful place with something for everyone within a short walking distance.

User

I like this small beach. I only had one problem and it was the crazy golf courses which where quite expensive compared to other crazy golf course i have been on at a seaside resort.

User

First time visit to Isle of Wight but found it very friendly and good transport links. Shanklin very nice seaside location with plenty to do and see would recommend if visiting

User

Beautiful, fun, And traditional. Choice of 3 crazy golf areas, arcades, shops plenty of pubs and the beach is beautiful if not a bit stoney. Combine that with the chine and the old town you have got a fantastic place here.

User

Disappointed at the prices in the new bayside fish and chips, £2.20 for a portion of chips, and a piece of plaice in breadcrumbs and not batter?!

I think having to pay 20p to use a toilet when you've already paid to eat is a bit ridiculous too! Staff could do with some more training on customer service too, I was stood for 5 minutes waiting for a lad to stop having a chat with his mate so I could ask for something! And our tea and coffee were not made until our food was ready which is a bit odd!

Friends of ours have said they thought the chips were rubbish, I found them ok, not the best eating experience Iv ever had though

User

Although it's lovely we enjoy the island as it's supposed to be dog friendly . However during low season we still can't access the beach at shanklin even when it's empty such a shame we could of spent the day if it wasn't for this . Much prefer Sandown.
