Shap Fell Bothy & Camping Barn Description
Off-grid camping barn accommodation with direct access to the Fells, yet only 10 minutes from the motorway. Situated near a SSSI nature reserve at 1390 feet on Shap Fell, beside the old A6. 240 volt power from solar panels. Basic rate £30. 00 for 4 people, extras £8. 00 pppn.
(Sleeps approx 10 people in communal upstairs room. ) Main room with woodburner downstairs. Kitchenette and washroom. Dogs welcome. Portaloo toilet. Drinking water and amenity water provided. Fire pit outside.
Available for private hire. Cyclists, walkers, bird-watchers, astronomers, Scouts and Guides, private parties and sleepovers, band practice, meeting room, workshops, stag nights, field trips, local community groups etc. On the main route from Land's End to John o'Groats. Local walks and bike tracks.
Basic Hire £30. 00 (Bring your own bedding: )
Extras include groceries, linen, firewood, meals, entertainment. )

Just said goodbye to our first visitors from Florida....such lovely people... They loved Cumbria and the bothy...apparently shap looks like the high plains in Wyoming!!! Lots of visitors still to arrive this month .. 😁

This is a versatile place to stay which can be easily used for many different occasions. Get your self booked in for a few days at Shap Fell Bothy you won't regret it.
Stayed here for 1 night with a friend on a motor biking trip around the lakes. Grabbed a bite to eat in Kendal before heading up to the bothy. The bothy it’s self has everything you need. It’s simple but that’s what makes it special. Jet is great and very helpful, plenty of space to park the bikes, will defo be booking next time we are on a lakes run again.
If u like excellent views and peaceful settings then this is for you! Amazing setup a++++++
