Shardlow Marina & Caravan Park

An ok site with good pubs and eateries in surrounding area. We stayed on the main site amongst the statics and semi permanent tourers but was blighted by contractors leaving the site early in the morning. In the summer the touring pitches are alright but on grass and have EHU, some will be close to the Bar that's on site which can be noisy in the late evening.

Great caravan site with a fabulous bar. Just enjoy...

Called in to the Chandler to purchase some propane gas and some Elsa blue at reasonable prices. Shop open all year although caravan site closes for February. Holiday homes(for sale) and a public house( Marina Bar)on site.

Happy, friendly, reasonably priced moorings. Pleasant surroundings and good facilities. Located close to excellent public transport and near good shopping areas.

Weather you want to camp or cruise you cannot go wrong at this in my opinion the best most friendly and helpful marina. I have visited most of the midland marinas and a lot further afield but I keep coming back to Shardlow

Shower block needs updating nice and flat lots of pubs / eating places so don't need to drive bus stop at end of drive if you want a fast trip to derby

Beautiful location. Excellent facilities. New shower block under construction. Plenty pubs and eating places. Flat location with many walks and cycle tracks. Very helpful wardens. Deffo on the return list.

Had a great time, then completely ruined due to be accused of not paying???? Poor customer service, he blamed staff, saying if we paid them then they were stealing??? Then realised we HAD paid and apologised, bit late and we could not get a word in, really not happy with him and disappointed as my 14 yr old daughter heard the lot on hands free on the journey home. Smithy's however and the owner of this was great. More explanation of checking in and out needed when arriving later than normal, we checked out at the same place we checked in and thought we were doing it correct!! Clearly not. Otherwise it's a good campsite.

Lovely location with great views and walks

Excellent caravan rally venue with riverside and canalised walks and on site pub serving food all day. Also private caravan pitches but these are expensive and cramped. Far better to go with a rally club when the weekend would cost around the same as one night privately.

Just one of the prettiest places for a camp site, been several times, well worth a visit :-)
