Went for food with some colleagues, service and menu was spot on. Good lively atmosphere and we all cleared our plates. Daily offers looked like pretty good value too!

Up for the weekend on the toon & this was one of the most vibrant bars with friendly staff who were fun & game for a laugh from the bar to the door.

Thanks for making this Arsenal supporter feel comfortable & welcome & will be back next season xxx

Had a class night at the super bowl party last night with the Facebook post win, also being upgraded to a table for the night topped it off. Staff all excellent (Amy think our waitress was called) thank you for the hospitality shark club. This will be an event I will be attending every year!

Great place for something to eat and drink before any match at St James.

Staff very friendly and service is quick even on match day.

Myself+Husband were visiting from Inverness+staying in the Sandman Signature Hotel for my 40th birthday.

Booked a table for the Saturday evening, the waitress was so friendly+helpful..She asked if we were there for a special occasion+we said yes so away she went+came back with a glass of Prosecco+a chocolate dessert to wish me Happy Birthday!

Then when we asked for the bill, the Manager came over+said he’d heard it was my special birthday then gave us a complimentary bottle of Prosecco with 2 flutes in an ice bucket+again wished me a Happy Birthday!



These were both very kind gestures+really helped to make my evening special�

I would definitely recommend the Shark Bar+will hopefully get to visit again soon...

Came here to spend a night after having our flight delayed and the wonderful staff totally lifted our spirits. The service was fab and the food was to die for!!!! Nothing but good things said about the hotel and the food and drinks at Shark by everybody who was on our flight. Would definitely recommend 😍

Came for Wings Wednesday, it was great! It was fully booked but we turned up and one do the staff members was really helpful and managed to get us a cancellation table. It was Really busy but a great atmosphere, the staff were excellent and the food was delicious! Can't wait to come back!

Me and my partner just left there & went there for tea, last night. The food is lovely & worth the money. Customer service was good, and we are staying in the hotel next door, so that's great. Loving Newcastle! Love from the Welsh �

Looks like we weren’t the first to experience this... booked a table for 6 at 6pm on Wednesday 20th Sept, been several times before, we had wings and beer and good conversation, the waitress was a laugh until we were asked to move on at 7:30pm saying the table was booked out from then for another group. Appreciate it’s a busy place but there was no time limit given when we booked the table originally. The bill was given to us and we were again asked, by a slightly embarrassed waitress, if we could leave as the next group were waiting. Although not the waitresses fault she stated her manager had asked her to tell us to leave twice. I think a visit from the spineless ‘manager’ would have been better than sending the poor lass over. We drank up and left, these places don’t reason with you, I would imagine they would just send the big guy off the door over to sort it whist the manager hides around the corner. Not great when you’ve just spent £120 in the hour and a half that our party was there!

the shark bar was ok once we had been served ,we had to shout to the bar staff to be served as they were all at the end of the bar talking ,we had 2 drinks there but had to shout both times ,if i was a mystery shopper they would of failed .

Worst dining experience I have EVER had in Newcastle, and I eat out ALOT. After waiting 20 minutes to even look at a menu we were ALL served chicken wings that was undercooked. Not just undercooked, it looked as if it still had a pulse it was so raw. When we eventually got the attention of a waitress we were told in a very rude tone and manner that “chicken is supposed to be cooked like that” as she rushed off for her cigarette. We then grabbed a second waitress for a second opinion, this waitress then wretched as if she were going to be sick and said she couldn’t even look at what we had been served (not very good discretion) A manager then came to explain to us that their chicken wings are twice cooked and they had sold over 10,000 wings that night (I hope they didn’t ALL look like ours) To top off our experience, while waiting for our fresh batch of wings the same hostess that had told us our wings were cooked fine came over to announce to our entire table “i have not sucked (male promoters name not mentioned for privacy)’s Dick just so you all know”, it may have been a miscommunication as non of the party even knew who this strange girl was or why she was telling us this, however it most definitely is not acceptable to speak to paying customers in this disrespectful manner - at this point we were shocked, disgusted and disappointed. Our appetites had gone, our moods were deflated, but at least we were well informed that the waitress does not “suck promoters dick”? - please see comments for pictures of the “twice cooked chicken wings”

Ordered more than 100 pound worth of drinks and wings, but got chased out when we haven finish our meals. Reason being other customers reserved our seats even though we made reservation 1 week ago. ���

It was scruffy, floor awash with booze & rubbish, bar staff absolutely rubbish, nobody to serve yet took 5 mins to get a drink, this was 7.30 pm on Saturday night pre fight, need to look at the staff, they are letting the place down, doesn't bode well for the hotel either

Good bar and would be 5* rating. Just please sort out your booking system. We came in the weekend before St Patrick's day to ask about booking and were told no bookings were possible as it was 'first come first served' for tables. Fine. Until we get there and all but TWO tables in the entire place are reserved. I guess Rosey B is more important than everyone else, who had 16 places reserved all day. Watched on as about 10 groups were told they couldn't sit down as Rosey B might show up. Even though it was reserved from 14:30 and at this point it was 16:00, with an empty table, and customers looking to sit down. Eventually the staff gave up moving people off the tables reserved for Rosey B, who was probably dining with the Queen as she's just that important. Lost revenue for you, impression of two tier system for guests. Sort it out please. Also, I'd love to know how you currently qualify for reserving a table? Is there test?

Booked a table on Wednesday. Came to watch the football and have wings. Got kicked off the table at half time. Waitress tried to blag that we were told that we only had the table for an hour and that we were told before which we were not. All tables around us had been there just as long as us. We were given no choice and the bill was literally thrown at us.



Pretty terrible service when you book a table to watch the football. Was planning on ordering more food but didn't get the chance.
