Sharrow Bay

Staff made us feel we weren't good enough for the restaurant and made our family of 10 very uncomfortable on a special occasion for my great-grandparents who were great friends of the founders. Would only go again for the food as it was out of this world. Staff need more training in customer service.

This is a beautiful hotel in a great position on the lake with spectacular views. I had been out walking with my wife and thought we would pop in for a quick drink, sit outside and enjoy the scenery.
They only served bottled beer as there was no bar as such, so I ordered a beer and my wife ordered a glass of wine. We sat outside and I was told to settle my bill in reception.
I was speechless when i was told that two drinks cost £19.50!!! I expected to pay more than a public bar but that is just a rip off. Very very expensive.

We quickly visited the grounds to check out the view of the lake. The view is fantastic and a great location. Probably will stay here for our next trip to the Lake District.

Little bit dated, but lovely setting. Great food too

Beautiful views of Ullswater lake from the hotel and restaurant. The food here is fantastic and who knew the sticky toffee pudding was invented here! We had a lovely stay in the dog friendly cottages a short distance from the lake shore. The grounds are beautiful. A great place to unwind.

Brought the mother here for her birthday after talking about coming here for years. Absolutely stunning views across Ullswater lake and the Afternoon tea was incredible, highly rated!

Traditional country Hotel on the South Eastern shore of Ullswater in The Lake District. Excellent food and service and stupendous views.

Beautiful hotel with amazing views of Ullswater. Quite old-fashioned and probably best suited to offer guests, though we had a lovely stay.
