Nice caravan, camping & chalet park with a great fishing lake, set on the edge of Hastings country park. Great location with sea views..

Very clean and spacious lodge in a very quiet area. Had a couple problems (smelly drain and faulty grill) but maintenance were quick to respond and very helpful. All staff were friendly and we really enjoyed our time here.

I have seen some good reviews on this place but my visit had me pretty frustrated within the first 18 hours. In summary I stayed on the touring side in a tent on an electric hook-up. Not my usual thing but I do go camping 2-3 times a year "as well as fancy hotels". I booked through pitch up. The negatives were as follows; I called beforehand to see if what type of extension lead I would need, I said I would bring a normal household 3 pin extension and I was told they had spares if I did not bring it. I got there to find a normal extension is not suitable it needed a different type of plug and they don't have any. I had to go out and purchase one (£70 - thankfully I found one on sale for £25 - phew). On my return I slipped on the wet decking outside the reception which is very slippery and on a slope. I strained my groin, the staff saw but did not come out and check I was ok. They also did not fill out an accident report - which is bad practice. Then to make matters worse, Myself and my son went to the swimming pool on our first morning, the pool was chargeable, this is not mentioned on the information about the pool on the pitchup website. The staff said to check their website, I pointed out I did not book from their website but pitch up. They said they know the information is wrong but they can't do anything about it. I unfortunately slipped on the decking again!! - just my luck I thought. They really need some signs up! The staff are constricted by the manager and were not able to let us use the pool without paying another £7.50 for the privilege. This seemed expensive for a small pool and it was clear that they only wanted owners to use the pool from the signage and charges, the pool is for owners and not "scum" like me who was staying in a tent. My son is autistic so he was disappointed and it mad me feel like a terrible dad but we were doing this trip on a budget.

The touring side of the park is ok, the facilities are ok but you do pay extra compared to other touring sites for the facilities and then to find out you still have to pay for them separately is deceiving. On their website there is small print to say the pool is chargeable but I did not visit their website I booked through pitchup. The park need to get this fixed. In addition they said they had another complaint about it yesterday from someone else, apparently they were satisfied when told it was on their website not pitchup. I am sorry but it is not my fault but theirs that their advertising is wrong. It also goes to show I am not the only one being deceived.

I asked to speak to the manager but was disappointed to learn that she would be in at some point today but they did not know when!

The bar / restaurant is small, its basically a pub with standard pub food. There is a very small toddler soft play area. I do mean small the size a family car. There is also a small arcade area with about 8 - 10 games in it.

The toilet block is reasonable and clean which is a positive.

The holiday park would be better if they sorted some of these things out, they have the location for it to be pretty good.

I've been coming here for years. The site is fairly standard really, toilets and showers could do with a facelift but everything else is good; it's the location that makes it. We camped in the tent field and the walks down into the woods, lakes and beach to go into the old town are amazing.

Brilliant touring park. Stayed this wknd in a tent, our first family camping trip. Very friendly clean place that is very popular. So many people camping and in tourers i didn't realise how popular camping is as up till now we have only done caravans. Club house is good, entertainment only on Saturdays and some Sundays which is good and was nice on the Friday night just to chill in the bar and get to know people. Kids loved it and there is plenty to do, so much so we didn't get time to use the swimming pool, maybe next time !😎
