Went to this fabulous establishment for a cheeky afternoon tea and it didn't dissapoint.

The whole place was wacky and slightly potty as one would hope for in an Alice in Wonderland themed eatery, it was a rabbit warren of a cafe with little Wonderland themed areas stretching back for what seemed like miles!

Great food, friendly staff and a definate must visit for any Alice fans.

User

Went here today as a 30th gift to have afternoon tea with soup for 2 people. Was absolutely delicious! We had pea soup to start with a lovely baguette roll and unlimited tea. Our afternoon tea was packed with tuna, cheese, ham and chicken sandwiches (Omg the bread was sooooo soft!) Followed with a lovely selection of cakes (the jam macaroons were amazing!) And giant hot scones with jam and clotted cream ÔŅĹÔŅĹ. All staff were super friendly and we were encouraged to have a look around the quirky tearoom to see all the marvellous Alice decorations. Loved everything about the place just wish I lived closer so I can come back more often! Couldn't rate any higher, fab place ÔŅĹ

Went for the pj masks afternoon tea with my daughters and granddaughter. The place is quirky and the staff who were working were amazing, really friendly and helpful and great with the kids. It was brilliant value for money, the afternoon tea was great, so much food and unlimited tea, will definitely be going again and would recommend everyone to give it a go, you won‚Äôt be disappointed. The entertainment for the kids was brilliant and our little one totally enjoyed her afternoon ‚̧ԳŹ

Returning for the first time since changing hands.. My mom purchased a wowcher voucher as a stocking filler for me at Christmas & we decided today was the day! First impressions were good! Main entrance and tea room felt lighter and are definetly cleaner but the charm of the place has not been lost in the decluttering. We were welcomed in the same friendly manner I had received when making the booking. We were sent off to find a table we wanted to sit at, we had a quick look around and discovered the old gift room had become more seating the soft play area had become a gift shop and there is a new toilet facility. All very welcome changes that make the place feel less cluttered and easier to negotiate. We were served promptly all the food was lovely and fresh, tea and soup were hot and tasty, you could tell the cakes and scones were fresh and home baked! The lemon drizzle cake and the banana and caramel cake are possibly the tastiest cakes I have ever tasted! Moist and absolutely stacked full of flavour! There is not a single thing I could complain about.. thank you for a wonderful afternoon! Can't wait to return.

p.s can I request carrot cake for next time ? I can only imagine how amazing it would taste after tasting your other mouth watering creations!!!

User

My daughter bought me here for afternoon tea. What a curious place :) soup was delicious and the scone and cakes were divine. A great place to relax in and the more you look the more you see. Staff were super friendly and helpful, will definitely revisit and worth the 15 mile drive :)

User

I had the first part of my hen do here yesterday .. first time here but not my last .. the staff were very friendly ... the afternoon tea was lovely and the decor is amazing ... thanks to you all x

User

Had my surprise baby shower her that my sister organised and the place was fantastic, very unique and quirky. Could not believe how massive the place was as it goes all the way back not just the small rooms at the front. The afternoon tea was lovely liked the face you got salad and fruit along with lots of cakes, sandwiches and scones. Plenty of tea and coffee. Will defo be coming back to try another time and the ice cream section at the back of the tea rooms. There is also a small part at the front and back of the building which was nice. Thank you for having us all. ÔŅĹÔŅĹ

User

Beautifully decorated tea room. The Alice in Wonderland theme is really lovely and fitting. Staff were friendly and our food was delicious; definitely one of the better afternoon teas we've had. Could tell the cakes and scones were homemade. Prices are reasonable too!

User

A deceptively spacious and quirky tea room. So much detail to explore over the various little sections it's like a little labyrinth. I loved it. Afternoon tea was great, lots to see and explore, friendly and polite staff and a random little gift shop at the back. Will definitely be returning soon ÔŅĹ

User

Went to mad hatter yesterday with a group of friends . It was international womens day and we were given free tea and coffee to go with our cakes . Very warm welcome . Some of my friends had not been there before and liked the quirky surroundings ÔŅĹ.

Lovely time chatting with friends will come again

User

Visited today for my Alice mad friends birthday. Food was delicious, tea was plentiful and the decor is bonkers, as it should be. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars, is that we were sat opposite a wall, would have preferred a table, but I would definitely go again

User

I took my husband for one of his birthday pressies we loved it staff are welcoming and polite the soup, sandwiches and cakes were lovely ūüėä and we even had decaf tea it‚Äôs a quirky place and I was surprised how big it was when we got inside, I recommended going its well worth the visit we would go again

User

Went for the first time with my son for the lunch with a magician.

On arrival it wasn't very welcoming and very overcrowded. I sat at the back of the shop and was told it's table service and someone will come and take my order. After 20 mins waiting I decided to go and find someone to order my drink.

When the children had finished we sat waiting for the childrens lunch and agen we had to go and find someone for that too.

Not very organised especially for the children.. my son hasn't even finished his lunch and we was told we had about 10mins as there was another show! ÔŅĹ

User

Was okay but seems hyped up to be more than it claims to be. My friend and I came in at for a cream tea which was fine; tea was nice and scones warm and light, cream and jam were great! Enjoyed it!

Decor was interesting but could do with updating, but the theme is good, and the place does seem quite expansive upon inspection!

Service was somewhat lacking as the girl who served us didn‚Äôt crack a smile, didn‚Äôt take much initiative to greet people coming in, recommend things from the menu, nor checked if everything was okay several minutes after ‚Äėplonking‚Äô everything down in front of us!

User

I purchased two wowcher vouchers for afternoon tea. When I telephoned and booked, I asked for 31st March as that was my daughter's birthday. The lady was polite, explained they were closed but I decided to book for 24th March. The lady said, they would make it special as it was for my daughter's 9th birthday. Far from special unfortunately and one disappointed daughter. We were told where to sit and weren't even asked if it was alright. We were seated in the entrance area which wasn't really anything spectacular and felt very out of the themed part of the building. We had very high expectations as I had read the reviews. No mention of my daughter's birthday and not offered any other option of drink for the children other than tea or coffee. On a whole disappointing and didn't really wow us. Had it have not been for the gentleman doing crafts in the entrance area, welcoming us, I think we may have left sooner.

User

Food was really lovely and girls were friendly but considering the price you pay for the stuff and what you used to get before changed hands to what you get now well very disappointed. The cake was tiny and one scoop of ice cream looked like half. Apart from portion size was nice. Would I go back again? Probably but wouldn’t go for deserts just NOT worth the money . Sandwiches were nice though x

User

Me and my friends booked there wasn't much food and we was told they had made a vegan cake but this wasn't made clear when they were put on the table. I was hoping to book this place for my daughter's baby shower, unfortunately the shop was a let down for us all

User

Not half as mad as a crafter who has spent alot of time and effort making items to go on sale at this shambles of an establishment!!! To be ripped off for over £65.00 of lost or missing stock after staff and volunteers moved it around n shipped it off to other crafter's by mistake. Placing your items at this place does come with a risk of damages or theft, which you take into account, but to loose this amount of stock due to poor organisation, poor business sense and down right carelessness and incompetence is beyond a joke. But on top of that they take an extra 20o/o commission for the pleasure of loosing your stock. I wouldn't recommend this shop for either their tasteless food, poor cleanliness, tacky decor or trustworthyness at all. Save yourself time, money and effort n don't bother.

I went to Mad as a Hatter on 29th June after winning a voucher for afternoon tea for 2. Our table was booked for 1:30pm and i called and spoke to a nice gentleman on the phone to say we were running 10mins late and apologised. On arrival we were greeted by a lovely lady who redeemed my voucher and said to chose a table anywhere as it wasn‚Äôt reserved for some reason and she would come and find us with our drinks order. After 10 minutes a lady with red hair came to take our drinks order with a face like a smacked arse and said she had put our food away as we were booked for 12:30pm and that we were late. I found her extremely rude and abrupt especially as our table was booked for 1:30pm and this was confirmed on the phone! She took our order anyway and brought our drinks to the table. The table we were sat at wasn‚Äôt set up with cups etc so we pinched them from the table next to us. Two friendly ladies came and sat at the table next to us and their order was taken by the same red haired lady but she was a lot chirpier with them and passed a comment that we had stolen their cups again quite rudely. Our food was then brought to our table and i was snapped at when asking for some sugar as we had none for our drinks. The food was clearly the food set out ‚Äėfor us at our 12:30 booking‚Äô as the bread was stale on the edges and the salad and fruit were on the turn!!!! Other than the warm scones the food wasn‚Äôt great at all and the customer service from the red haired lady terrible!!! She was quite pleasant (although it seems that being nice didn‚Äôt come naturally to her) to all other customers so why do the girls with the ‚Äėfreebie‚Äô not get the same service??? If i hadn‚Äôt got a voucher i‚Äôd be asking for a full refund and i will not be returning!!

Me and my friends booked there wasn't much food and we was told they had made a vegan cake but this wasn't made clear when they were put on the table. I was hoping to book this place for my daughter's baby shower, unfortunately the shop was a let down for us all
