A good win for Hamza Sabir in today's schoolboy Yorkshire semifinal. A determined display from him to set up the final in a couple of weeks. Bilal hussein lost out in his cadet final to his experienced opponent but showed why we entered him,he'll come again and will be better for the experience in his first champs. Well done to both lads.👊🏻👊🏻

Thanks to Shakiel Thompson and Roger for coming over tonight,some good rounds in there. Keep your eyes on this lad a real talent,he boxers again April the 27th on BT sport.

A busy day for the club and a day of mixed results. Will Simpson lost on a split decision in his quarterfinal but gave it his all yet again. It the furthest he has been in the competition and all the club are really proud of him. Jade Pearce put in a great effort in her quarterfinal to take the decision against her more experienced opponent. A great result for jade and well deserved,she has stuck at it when the chips have been down and now she's on a roll and ready to go agai...n in tomorrow's semi. On empire abc's show in Sheffield Joel Aminu lost his Yorkshire belt on a split decision in a close bout. So pleased that bilal niwaz finally got through the ropes for the first time today and didn't disappoint. This lad has worked so hard in the gym and has lost around 10kg in weight! He's one to watch and today he came away with a unanimous decision. Well done to everyone and all the team today and the best of luck to Jade Pearce tomorrow.👊🏻👊🏻

👊🏻SIMPSON SAILS THROUGH!👊🏻 Well done to Will Simpson who today took the judges decision and advances to the quarterfinals stages of the national championships. Proud of Will's efforts and he goes in to tomorrow's bout knowing a win will guarantee him a medal.👊🏻👊🏻

It's been so rewarding working with the pupils from Talbot special needs school over the last couple of months. All these children are champions in my eyes! Well done to everyone who has attended including the teachers who've been so positive. To see the pupils leaving every week with a sense of pride and beaming smiles on their faces makes it so worth while.👊🏻👊🏻

After capturing his 3rd consecutive Yorkshire elite title last week,will is all set to go in the pre quarters this Friday in Nottingham. This will be his last shot at the big one before turning over to the pro ranks. I can promise you this lad will leave it all in the ring this weekend,he always has and always will!... You can't coach what he's got. His hard work and determination since he joined the club has brought him 3 Yorkshire light heavyweight titles,northern area title belt,Yorkshire title belt for keeps and a haringey box cup gold medal. He's a great role model in and out of the ring and someone who always gives you 110%. Wish him all the best on his quest!👊🏻👊🏻

He claimed his third consecutive Yorkshire elite light heavyweight title on a split decision. Commiserations to Matthew Smith who boxed really well but lost out on another split decision! National amateur boxing championships tonight at Colley wmc,parsons cross. Unfortunately Vlad Matei won't be competing. Though he won his semifinal on Friday in Leeds by split decision,we received a phone call the next day to say there had been a mistake and they have reversed the decision! Unbelievable that they've been allowed to do that and something I've never seen done before. I know that mistakes can happen but for it to happen in the elite national championships is sho...cking. Imagine winning a world title and the next day having to give it give it back due to a mistake. We soldier on tonight though so good luck to Matthew Smith and Will Simpson in their finals,both lads have been looking sharp in training and will leave it all in the ring tonight. Good luck also to Vlad's opponent in his final.👊🏻👊🏻
