Sheffield Jesus Centre

Sheffield Jesus Centre will be a community space for meeting up with your friends for a coffee and a natter, sharing skills and friendship and learning from each other. . . as well as worship space for church events through the week. The hub of the centre will be a colourful Community Café with free internet access and theme nights; a safe and welcoming drop-in for anyone needing shelter, where along with a free clothing store, shower and clothes washing facilities, we will also provide food parcels to those in need. An activity lounge will include games, art space and computer access - something for everyone in the community! Everyone who comes to the centre can get free skills training with ESOL classes, Money and debt advice, Basic IT, English conversation for non-English speakers and more. The centre will be open at the end of this year, and will run solely on volunteers to begin with. Currently more than 60 volunteers have been trained, and if you would like to be involved in this exciting project let us know! FUN AND FREE ACTIVITIES. . . Led by a lovely bunch of young and old volunteers, free community group activities will be experimental and vibrant. Some weekly groups may include• Conservation work and gardening• Parents & tots group for friendship and support• Healthy cookery• Creative Arts• Healing prayer and spiritual support• And a Businessman's breakfast - a place to network and enjoy a full-English! GOING GREEN. . . Centre staff will be kind to the environment by reducing energy usage and recycling. We are also planning a sustainable energy scheme to install solar panels and air-source heat pumps to reduce our carbon footprint. General informationSheffield Jesus Centre offers friendship and help to all regardless of their faith or lack of it. Services include support groups and skills classes as well as a small community café, and a drop-in for those in vulnerable accommodation or other particular need.
