About Sheffield Volunteering

We help students to get involved in volunteering. The SV family is made up of a student volunteering committee, friendly staff & our GIANT yellow bee!

Sheffield Volunteering Description

We help students and staff at Sheffield University to volunteer in Sheffield. Projects come in all shapes and sizes to suit all time options and interests.

We're constantly creating new projects so whatever time of year you fancy getting involved, there will always be something on offer.

We have a huge range of fun and exciting projects you can get involved in which we will tell you about on our facebook page.

From running your own project with children to working with the homeless on our cities streets, there's loads of conservation, sports and everything in between.

Heeley People's Park is the largest community run park in the country. That means they rely on volunteers to keep it running. They would love some help on Weds 19 Feb (morning or afternoon) to coppice some hazel trees. No skills required, the friendly Parks team will show you what to do. Sign up online https://www.sheffieldvolunteering.com/det ails/1413/ and watch the video below to see how amazing the park is!

This week is #tinnitusweek. Tinnitus is the sensation of hearing a sound even when there is no external sound. These sounds can be ringing, whooshing or humming or buzzing in the ear, and might be continuous or they can come and go. It can be very disorientating and disruptive to people's lives.
Our 100 hour Placement student, Scott, worked in the PR and Marketing team last summer and had a brilliant experience: "I have gained satisfaction from knowing that I have spent my su...mmer working for a worthwhile cause. I have learnt how debilitating tinnitus can be - I'm glad to have played a very small part in helping those with tinnitus."
Would you like to gain office experience in a small, friendly team, develop a range of skills and ultimately offer life-changing support for people who have Tinnitus? Sign up to be a Helpline Volunteer here: https://www.sheffieldvolunteering.com/det ails/587/
