We've never visited despite coming to Ambleside for the last 8 years...so we tried it and it was amazing..the food was so yummy with great flavours..really enjoyed every course and the atmosphere and decor was romantic

We had a lovely meal here yesterday evening with our two dogs. Restaurant was great for dogs as there is lots of room in between the tables for dogs to lie down (we have two large Flatcoats) Our two got offered a bowl of water as soon as we walked in. My chicken and penne was scrumptious and the chips were lovely. Will come again �

We couldn't recommend Sheila's Cottage enough. Customer service is second to none, even a bowl of water and a biscuit for the dogs after being shown to our table! Food is amazing, staff are fabulous. Not the 1st time we have eaten here and will be definitely be going again.

We came across this gem off the main road in Ambleside. We hadn't booked, they fitted us in and the service, food and experience was brilliant. It was our anniversary with two small children and the experience will be one of many memory's we'll treasure. Thank you for making us all so welcome x

This is our favourite place to eat when in ambleside been at least 5 times now . Great friendly staff and food is just amazing well presented and reasonably priced it's a 5 star from us every time xxx

So, these guys fitted 4 + a junior in on a Saturday half term evening. The food was great, the service was attentive but not fussy, a totally enjoyable, relaxed evening. We will be going back�.

Our meal on Sunday evening was exceptional, and made all the better by the excellent attention from the fabulous Jose’ who entertained the children, and made us all feel very special �

Just had a fab meal here, can highly recommended the sweet potato risotto, it was lovely, very spacious place and dog friendly, also staff were very cheerful, would visit again if ever in the area.

Fantastic food and fantastic staff, dog friendly and went out of their way to make sure not just ourselves but the dogs were happy and had everything they needed too. We popped in for lunch and the food was so good we booked back in for dinner, three courses all superb!

As always, Sheila's Cottage was amazing. Our group of 4 humans and 3 dogs were met with the warmest of welcomes on New Years Eve. The staff, atmosphere, attention to the customers needs and most of all the food were first class. This is not our first meal here and certainly won't be our last.

A lovely restaurant in the centre of Ambleside. We ate off the evening set menu - can particularly recommend the homemade steak and kidney pudding - delicious.

We visited Sheila's yesterday & we liked the food however one recommendation would be to have more chicken options on the menu. On the whole the restaurant was cozy & staff were attentive. Keep it up!

Very nice dinner and helpful staff. Allowed the dog inside, which is very much appreciated. Food was very tasty. Loved the fish mezze-like starter with deep fried whitebait and creme brûlée was Scrumptious! �

Only popped in for a light lunch so chose the tomato soup, wow, it was the best I’ve had in years!

It didn’t say so but I think there was some ginger in with it as it tasted fantastic and was

perfect on a cold November day.

I would have given it a five star but the wife’s meal came out burnt and we had to send it back. No arguments they swapped it for another but then we had to wait for hers to come and we had all finished. Lovely service lovely clean and pleasent place to eat and everyone else had a really nice meal

Cosy restaurant in a little side road way, food was nice �. We got there just after main lunchtime and Was quickly seated and served.

Lovely friendly place. Nice clean surroundings. Great choice on menu.

Hubby had the Sea bass and it was beautiful. I had the Lamb which was not the best I have had, it was a but tough but we would go again as it was good value for money and presentation was beautiful.
