We're very excited to announce that we'll be providing additional PR support this year to our first ever international music festival. Some very good friends of ours at Sheltered Life PR are putting on the awesome AMFest in Barcelona this October, which will feature a heap of incredible bands/artists that include Deafheaven, Zeal & Ardor, Pelican, Alcest, Daughters, BO NINGEN and many many more. It’s going to be a lot of fun so stayed tuned for further developments. https://amfest.es

Big thanks to Joseph Schafer for writing about Ripple Music and Bright Curse in his excellent Mining Metal column over at Consequence of Sound recently:
"For almost a decade California label Ripple Music has been a repository for some of the finest guitar-based music at the nexus of stoner metal, psychedelic garage, and the perennially influential desert rock scene. Put more simply: if it’s new and it sounds like Black Sabbath, Roky Erickson or Kyuss, and it’s good, chances are Ripple Music puts it out [...] Formed from the ashes of French outfit Soul Manifesto, Bright Curse manage to keep some of the francophone shoegaze vibes alive while also incorporating the pastoral folk tradition of England into their music — dig that flute! Think Fu Manchu playing Syd Barrett-era Pink Floyd on Alcest’s gear. Buy it via Ripple Music."

Inside the new issue of Metal Hammer this month we have some excellent reviews for a couple of bands we've been working with recently. Edwin Mcfee gets to grips with Beastwars Band's storming new aural tome, IV, and Old Gods, the Fuzzorama Records-endorsed album by desert rockers Valley of the Sun is reviewed by Holly Wright. "Salem's Bend have been one of my favorite bands on San Francisco’s Ripple Music for a good long while now. After three years of hard touring the group is back with their sophomore offering, Supercluster. Whereas their self-titled debut was entirely written and recorded by frontman Bobby Parker, Supercluster is a more collaborative work and it shows. Hardened by countless shows across the west coast, Supercluster is tighter and more explosive than anything the band has done before."

Congratulations to Sheltered Life PR new boys Deaf Radio on making Classic Rock Magazine's much-coveted 'Tracks of the Week' feature with new single 'Astypalea', running alongside the likes of Bruce Springsteen, Volbeat and Hiss Golden Messenger...
"And now for something completely different from these Greek “proponents of hard rock and grievous genre assault”. They may have a point on both counts; this new single is psychedelic but also hooky and super heavy – in manner of QOTSA getting freaky (but groovy) after a big cigarette or two. Nice."

"The eleven tracks here capture a quintessential sound and spirit that has defined the doom and heavy metal genre for over 40 years. Heavy, bluesy riffs with slow stoner-groove meet an impassioned clean vocal style to triumphant effect. [...] Lightning Born is a lean, straight to the point work, that is worthy of any doom fan’s attention."
Astral Noize's Omur Sowar digs in deep with North Carolina doom champions new album, which is officially released this Friday on Ripple Music!

Apparently, today is our seventh birthday. Who'd have thought it? From an as-and-when side-line to a full-time trans-international/universe conquering concern (!), I’m proud to say that we’ve worked with well over a hundred bands/artists, close to a dozen or so record labels and a handful of festivals down the years. Thank you to everyone for your continued support and to all the people who appreciate what SLPR is and tries to do for new music and the people who make it.

"Beastwars Band have delivered their best album to date and one of the best albums of the year with IV. IV acts as a celebration of what everything Beastwars have accomplished in their careers so far. The album is a triumphant return for one of the best bands currently within the scene and it’s great to have Beastwars back playing their most uncompromising and unapologetic music they’ve released so far."
Check out this killer and incisive new review of Beastwars' IV by Steve Howe at Outlaws Of The Sun. Big thanks Steve!
