Thanks to the wonderful Bay Fitness, for this week's free online Yoga & Fitness classes. Be kind to yourself and check them out. Your mental health will thank you for it. Namaste.
For those who have lost a child, a mother, or the hope of having a child, Mothering Sunday is always poignant. This year many more will be physically distant. Talk kindly to yourself, in these difficult times and look for the joy in small things.
I'm moving my counselling/coaching to a Skype based service for the next 12 weeks or so. If you have a session already booked, I shall be in touch to discuss. Stay safe and keep hand washing!
This time of year can get a bit hectic and pressured. Try to take a break and look after yourself.
I love Nadiya's bravery in sharing her story. Hopefully it will encourage more of us to talk about our anxiety without shame.
Have a great weekend!
Exeter or South Devon peeps - please spread the word. Such a valuable new support group being formed for a hard to reach group.
Happy Valentine's Day! Be kind to yourself and show your inner child some love. x
Here it is ... the shortest day! Counting down until summer, or relishing the festive season, remember to make time for yourself and do something that makes you smile.
Loving this series on BBC iPlayer talking about mental health issues. Particularly accessible for younger people, if anyone is looking for a way to start a conversation ...
Social anxiety can flare up in all of us. If you dread bumping into someone you know whilst shopping, it's a sign you need to go easy on yourself for a bit.
Stories of inappropriate behaviour and worse can trigger strong responses deep within us. Memories of incidents we may have supressed or tried to leave behind. Examine your own thoughts and feelings carefully before deciding on your course of action. It is your own story to tell or not, as you decide fit. Everyone is different. Do what's right for you and don't be afraid to reach out for help if you need it.
It's not always a sign that we need to try harder. Sometimes it's just not meant to be. The skill is knowing the difference.
'Back to school' can trigger an emotional response from our inner child. Whether you loved the excitement of a fresh start, or dreaded the end of your summer holidays, you may carry the same feelings with you today. Being aware of where your emotions come from is the first step towards understanding and change. Maybe this is the year to give September a second chance?
Sometimes even small steps seem to take a lot of energy. Getting up, cleaning your teeth, going to the shops. Don't beat yourself up about the things you can't face doing at the moment. Celebrate the small victories. One step at a time.
Loving this programme and the bravery of those speaking out about mental health.
Good luck to everyone running the London marathon. You are inspirational.
Being too busy is not a sign of a life well lived. Have a great weekend ... with time for yourself and those you care about!
Bruise easily? Maybe you have a 'badass superpower'...
