Hiya , sorry had to leave shop a little early tonight , had to get a lift . My car should be back on road tomorrow . Good day and night for a Monday . Back in really early tomorrow , so much to do . Tomorrow celebrating National Caribbean week , I m doing a Jamaican style beef stew , Vegan Caribbean curry , chicken kebabs with jerk sauce , crispy chicken with Jamaican hot sauce optional .... Well after an eventful day time to get on with work . From tomorrow we are celebrating National Caribbean week served with our chips . Of course our normal menu on and the cod is so good at mo . Tomorrow on the menu is Jerk chicken , chicken and pepper kebabs, Vegan Caribbean curry , spicy beef ribs . Of course our full Diiirrrtttaaayyy chips menu is on with Kebab meats salad and sauces , Beast of Bodmin chicken curry, chilli con carne and grated cheese, faggots and peas , ...cheesy beans, just a few to mention . Hot roast meats tomorrow with mams real gravy are Roast lamb, roast beef, roast pork, roast turkey and roast Gammon Our fish is served battered, steamed,breaded or gluten free. Shiphay Chippy is open from 12 pm till 9 pm everyday except Sundays. Xxxxx

Afternoon mateys, been so busy this morning prepping for today . Shiphay Chippy is open right through every day 12pm till 9 pm except Sundays. The Cod is my favourite today , thick and flaky. All meats on today including Welsh Roast lamb. Even if you don’t have meats today, try our gravy on your chips . OMG is like if I ve gone to heaven .... Today’s special are , BBQ Beef ribs in slow cookers . Crispy Chicken with choice of sauces , chicken tikka ball with curry sauce . I must say though my favourite is a giant Yorkshire, chips and mams gravy with a spam fritter . Yummy #Comfortfood

Hiya ,well that was our busiest night since we ve been open . Thank you all so much and from the bottom of my heart I hope you all enjoyed your food . We made a few mistakes , little ones . We had to put a little wait on food as staff told customers as they ordered but we soon caught up . As you know we try hard to make our little chippy something different . Fish is my biggest passion but I also love the Diiirrrtttaaayyy chips, chips with toppings and our hot roast meats a...nd gravy . Saturday tomorrow and an early start for me . Loads of fish to prep and loads of Welsh lamb to roast with other meats . Beef ribs to put in the slow cooker . Meatballs to do , loads of curries to make , list goes on to do . just had roast beef chips and gravy from Shiphay Chippy WOW amazing delious and huge portions. I couldn't eat all mine. What lovely friendly staff who greeted me a smile. Will definitely be using Shiphay Chippy again in the very near future. Thank you so Steve and staff xx

duuuuurrrtttyyyy chips (smugglers chips) are pure heaven on a plate had portion each last week was too much so shared portion this time and perfect couldn't wish for a better meal 5* service from 5* staff making this a weekly visit now

Went to these guys tonight as we couldn’t decide what to have and had seen a couple of friends had been. Highly impressed with the food and service and the portion size is very generous. We will be back.

We had the gammon, gravy and chips tonight which was lush! Medium cod was the size a whale and tasted so good too! � Second time coming here and both times the food has been amazing, service has been really quick (despite the chippy being super busy) and you’ve got yet another couple of happy customers on your hands. Thanks guys!! ���

We had tea at the Shiphay chippy last night, greeted with a smile and hello the service is always great. We had our usual with the exception of some dirty chips! Chips with real gravy and lots of turkey breast on top, a proper meat feast! The portions are very generous, I felt bad towards the end as I couldn’t possibly stuff any more in. Keep up the great work guys and girls!

Other half had the Cajun Chicken burger last night. As always she found it spicy! Kinda says it in the name really. � Was really lush & hit the spot. Certainly the best I've had in a long time. Keep up the great menu guys. �

Ordered for the family last night, the meat (beef) was fab easily as good as my own roast and the gravy was lush! Everyone was stuffed and very happy, great service to boot, such a great menu with something for everyone. We will be back. ���

My goodness what a whopping portion of bodmin chicken curry and chips that was.. fed me and my daughter easily and my son pinched some too. So much chicken breast aswell. Definatly will come again.. and the cheesy chips!! Real cheese guys.. not that rubber stuff. My son munched his in silence. 5*** grub.

Mine and my partners favourite chippy! Since opening Steve and his staff really have blown the competition out of the water with their one of a kind bespoke menu and the quality of the food is superb. The portions are hearty (even for me) and it's at such a reasonable price. If you haven't tried Shippy Chippy yet then you seriously are missing out!

Lovely fresh and very tasty, the lamb was so tender and such good value for money we live on the other side of Torquay but the trip in the car is well worth it, in my opinion the best chippy in Torquay

I live in shiphay, and decided to get in early, as I know the meats usually sell out, and ordered the beef and gravy, dirty chips, and also the chilli and cheese (although we had no cheese) dirty chips. What can I say, absolutely lovely. Firstly the beef, nice thick cut beef, tender and scrumptious, the gravy is what Steve says, to die for, and the chilli is made with decent mince and very flavoursome. Well done guys, top class!! Thank you.

I dove from Paignton yesterday as I wanted to see what this chippy was like and I wasn’t disappointed! I asked if it was possible to have a jacket potato with the roast meat which wasn’t on the menu and they happily obliged! Food was delicious and can’t wait for my next visit x

Have wanted to pop in all week for our tea, but life got in the way, but not tonight and we weren’t disappointed with our first visit!! We had the dirty beef chips (melt in the mouth meat) and medium fish and chips!! Portions were huge and had fed myself and my hollow leg teenager and my young daughter, and there is plenty left over for the husband when he gets in from the pub!! Absolutely delicious!! We will be back very soon, definitely 5 stars � ����

Had the roast pork with gravy last nite omg! it was bloody gorgeous meat was cooked lovely and the gravy was amazing tasted just like my nans used to � we will defo b bk � amazing food and lovely friendly staff. 100% recommend �

Found these guys on facebook and paid attention to what they serve! Well OMG!!!!! I had roast beef, chips, 2*yorkshire puddings, gravy and horse radish sauce!!!! I was not disappointed it was very good! I can officially confirm I have a huge food baby going on and feeling happy! Great price!!!! Loved it and definitely will be going back!

Decided to pop in last Saturday. Ordered the meal for two deal (2 regular chips and 2 regular cods plus two sides for £10.90). Ordered 6 chicken nuggets. Wasn't disappointed,as the portion size was amazing. Food was lovely. Will go there again to try different food on the menu. Loads to choose from. Staff were very friendly too. Make you feel welcome x

Came over from Brixham tonight, after dying for so long to try it! I was not disappointed! It was delicious! Being from up north, it was proper gravy and the portion sizes were amazing! Excellent value for money, we will be back! Xx

Amazing! The best chip shop I have ever been too not only are the portion sizes huge and taste amazing, the staff there make it what it is and are so friendly.



Not your normal chippy, some different items on the menu that always surprise me and want to try.



The meat on chips with gravy are out of this world, had the gammon and turkey so can't wait to try the lamb next.



Fish is HUGE as are chip sizes which are really filling so beware when you order...large is huuuuuge.



Curry sauce and gravy sauces are really nice and go great on the chips or meat.



That's not even getting onto the chip specials they do with chip toppings that vary all the time but really make you want to try.



The staff are so friendly and welcoming when you come in which is nice to see, it's more of a community shop where people can order from than just a walk in , buy and leave.



Really impressed with everything here and love living so close I can walk up anytime.
