We were being filmed for George Clarke's Amazing Spaces but we had to keep it a secret until it aired on Channel 4, so none of the pics we shared had film crew on. No mean feat considering they were everywhere! "PERFECT DAY: Even the approach on foot to Shore Cottage was intriguing, then we emerged from woodland onto a beach with North Wales resplendent across the water. The welcome was warm and involved endless tea and home made biscuits. We three off-duty mums were relative novices to photography, with a selection of devices ranging from a proper digital camera to a mobile phone. Nevertheless, we produced e...xcellent results. Guided by Laura's unstuffy approach and simple advice we learnt to see things differently and search for images that no-one else has produced. Lunch was delicious with soup and homemade bread in big chunks to feed our creativity. All through the day the wonderful view from the picture window of the Shore Cottage Studio was evolving and changing as clouds and sun took turns to create new light on the scene. It was hard to leave, but we each came away with a framed print to remind us of a perfect day."

This is what Dawpool School's Spoonbills looked like at lunchtime today - halfway there. After a beach clean in the morning we concentrated on feathering our spoonbills with single use plastic - the school have been collecting clingfilm from their packed lunches for weeks. We'll share pics of the final piece early next week and then they'll be off for an exhibition to the Williamson in Birkenhead for the whole of the summer holidays.
