Did anyone lose their backpack? We have received a message today..
Hi skaters, Does anyone know someone called Yan who has lost their backpack at or near the park, probably yesterday.? I found it beside Duke of Wellington pub this morning and will hand it in to Shoreham police station Monday morning after 10 am.... Cheers and I hope Yan recovers it.

Dear Shoreham locals,
If we could improve and enhance the Ham recreational park, what would you like to see added to the green space surrounding the concrete skatepark? We are looking for some good ideas to upgrade the park and would like to know your views and positive suggestions.
... The park is in the middle of a large surrounding area of redevelopment and so the time feels right to make some changes*
The skatepark committee (Shoreham skaters) has been approached by the local business, Focus Group, our new neighbours who are situated in the smart office building across the road. With a view to sponsor and support the skatepark, Focus Group have asked us how they can help. We (SS) feel that the green space needs a boost for all the community visitors and this will add to the overall welfare of the skatepark and its riders and users.
There are some building restrictions within the green space due to underground pipe works. Also, We are reserving a small area to finish the skatepark project at some point with a Mini-Bowl and more lighting.
After a positive and exciting meeting with Elaine and Chris Goodman from Focus Group, we are now looking for your ideas and suggestions to present to the council.
The skatepark committee is focused on the actual skatepark and we would hope to form an additional "Friends of The Ham" partner group to care for the Rec itself.
Some ideas from the meeting that came up... outdoor gym equipment, picnic benches and seating. Slackline posts. More planting and landscaping. Concrete table-tennis table...
*The skatepark will be celebrating it's 10 year anniversary in 2020 so what a good time to make some improvements.

The LA Crows, a group of local skaters, will be doing a 100 mile skatepark tour to raise funds for Mind, the mental health charity. Check out their page and hopefully donate for their efforts. They should get to Shoreham Skatepark around 4.30pm if all goes well..
