We popped in here for lunch and it was lovely, my husband had sausage and mash, sausage were awesome! I had fish and chips, it was gorgeous, yummy mushy peas! Really nice pub, lovely sitting out area, defo recommend.
We found this pub in the middle of hebden bridge for a Sunday lunch to be fantastic. Me and the wife enjoyed the special 3 course menu and my daughter went off the kids options rather than the main menu. The food was great, the wife loved the mushroom starter and curry main course, I had the Black pudding nuggets and lamb roast, my daughter dived into chicken nuggets. We were all full afterwards and the bill showed the great value for money .. service fab, atmosphere fab we will be back next month...
The food is fantastic, and we were sat by a window overlooking the river. We will be back here!
Staggered into the pub with muddy boots after boxing day walk along the canal and into Hebden square. Did the usual visual briefing as I peered through the windows before entering checking if there were George Bush 'folk' inside to ascertain standard of food/beer and clientele. Seemed busy but not packed. The 'off cum den' was warmly greeted with a big smile, accomodating service and options to pay there and then for the small but fine selection of beers or later all in with the grub. And what good grub! Bangers and mash met the eye as I'm living in foreign parts and wanted reaquainting with trad Yorkshire faire. A little on the pricey side for these parts I thought pondering down the menu. It arrived and was marvellous with local large sausages....tantalizing! and heaps of mash.....plus al dente vegetables with tang of sauce that seemed a cut above what I would expect for the price. Regular but unintrusive service, never felt rushed, smiles and after meal care. Highly delighted customer that will come back again one day. Cheers.
Really friendly and happy staff and the food is delicious! Have lunched here a few times and it never disappoints. Set right in the square at Hebden Bridge, so you can enjoy the world going by at the same time! Look forward to my next visit! Thank you!
Popped in yesterday for a drink while visiting Hebden Bridge. Greeted by lovely staff and ended up having lunch as the food looked fab! And it was, homemade lasagne was gorgeous, husband had the pie also great. Definitely be back.
Lovely little rustic pub, friendly staff, great atmosphere topped with an award winning chef.
The food was amazing , beautifully cooked and the chips theeeee best ever xxxx
Highly recommended and will be back all the way from sunny Blackpool xxx
Well done Amy xxx
Loved it, sat outside in the glorious sunshine on a Sunday afternoon watching the crowds of people in the square. Lovely place to enjoy a nice drink.
Love this place, the staff are amazing, welcoming, very friendly, full of smiles and nothing is too much trouble. The food is amazing, definitely the best in Hebden. Hubby said their beer is great too.
Just been for lunch with mum. Lovely friendly staff, couldn't do enough for us. Fabulous food from amy. Well recommended
Had the steak & ale pie. Definitely recommend this pub, we loved it.
Great atmosphere! With great locals made us feel really welcome!! amazing tasty food with our steak and we are picky as steak lovers and we could not fault anything!! I would highly recommended people come here
Gorgeous mothers day meal - great offer for 2 or 3 courses & a free glass of prosecco for Mum's. Food was plentiful and absolutely gorgeous. I had the beef Sunday roast which was cooked to perfection and an incredibly tasty lemon posset with short bread! Staff were really friendly. Couldn't find a fault. We'll be back again. Keep up the great work!!!!
Food was amazing ! Worth the wait !! And the barmaid jade was really lovley and made me and my mum feel really welcome, Thankyou jade and all the staff at the shoulder for making our experience really nice will definitely be comming back!
Excellent choice of wholesome tasty food, with early bird menu 5.00 - 7.30! Great value in lovely cosy surroundings, with very helpful staff. Rounded off our visit to Hebden Bridge wonderfully.
Came this afternoon with my family. (mum, dad, husband and son).
Beautiful food. Very fresh and well presented.
Polite staff. Calm and relaxing Atmosphere.
Even my almost 10 year old son was impressed with his lunch and he is very hard to please.
Twice we have been and both times enjoyed had to wait about 30mins veg cooked as we like roast beef cooked to perfection and extra gravy was brought to us in all staff very friendly would definitely go again
Waited over 40 minutes for a steak pie chips and red cabbage
Pie was burnt on edges and pastry wasn't fully cooked
Disappointed
A simple meal of lasagne and salmon took almost an hour to arrive and was mediocre at best. The veg was undercooked to the point of rawness whilst the salmon was overdone and dry and the lasagne practically burned. The couple on the next table waited the same length of time for a couple of rounds of sandwiches and, although they received an apology we were treated with near contempt! Won't be back!!
