Looking for play for our darts team it’s Thursday evenings and our first game is 23rd August. Practice is Monday nights and Thursdays before matches. Please let me know by Tuesday 22 August.

With this lovely weather in place for this week we are looking at having a BBQ this Thursday night and we will also be showing the England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 game in the bar area. £10 a head including your first pint or small glass of wine. Bar will open at 4:30 till late and BBQ 5pm until 7pm. A heads up would be appreciated but not essential so we know how many to cater for

We stayed here over thirty years ago it was lovely then and still has the same charm it had then the staff were so friendly and welcoming the food was gorgeous the room we stayed in was lovely and clean could not ask for better breakfast was lovely as well we definitely will be back

Very warm welcome by the owners/staff & locals & we were made to feel at home The food was wonderful & very plentiful & well presented, the beers were great! We will definitely be coming back to visit again in the future & hopefully staying put as we loved the area. Thank you to everyone for making our stay in Kirby Hill a memorable one!

This is a great place to eat the very best salmon dish I have had in a long time. We stayed the night and that was great also , staff very friendly and helpful. Well worth the trip out too.

Our first time visiting these parts and wasn't disappointed couldn't ask for any more, made extremely welcome food/room fabulous, warm cosy very clean, a very good night's sleep,lovely meal surrounding area beautiful would certainly recommend and will be returning soon thankyou to all for making our stay great

Me and my partner wanted a last minute night away and came to kirby hill. Very close to where we were staying is the shoulder of mutton. We spent most of our stay here. The service is fantastic the staff are very good. To add the food we had was amazing. My partner had the shoulder of lamb stew and dumplings and I had the chicken breast. All we can say is fantastic. A true country pub great food and hospitality !! 10/10

Lovely rooms.. had main double and family room.. great service, lovely staff making you feel welcome.. so informal and relaxed.. home from home when staying the night � brilliant over night stay with my mum, dad, boyfriend and niece � thank you

Just had to comment on how great the Sunday lunch was today! Matt & Kirsty and the girls are obviously working really hard, a friendly welcome, attentive and a good dinner! Beef was cooked perfectly, enormous Yorkshire puddings!! And a lovely selection of puddings too! If you haven't been up since Toni & Mike left, you really need to visit again!

Had my 30th birthday party there. Staff were all fantastic! They accommodated all of my requests including decorations, food and booking of live music. My family and friends all commented on how friendly and welcoming they were. They did a delicious homemade curry buffet including chicken tikka masala, Thai vegetable curry and Bombay potatoes alongside a selection of cold sandwiches and pastries. Would highly recommend this venue for a good feed and a good time!

Great little cosy pub/restaurant/B&B. Owners Mathew and Kirsty work very hard giving most of their own time up to accommodate all who pass through.



Recommended as a stop over for couples or the single traveller. Only a four-mile roll down the hill into Richmond and great value for money.

First visit to Shoulder of Mutton last night for a meal with friends and was not disappointed, we were welcomed by new owners Matt and Kirsty they and their staff are friendly, helpful and nothing was a problem. The food was fantastic it was also nice to be able to have smaller portions of most of the menu and not just allowed for children. We will certainly be back.

Absolutely fabulous...we had a beautiful delicious meal while staying here & also breakfast both cooked to perfection.the owners Kirsty & Mathew were both very friendly lovely people.(thankyou Mathew for the free samples of homemade gin) room lovely & clean/nice crisp white bedding.will definitely be returning when visiting Richmond again x

A real pub. Lovely atmosphere, fantastic food, good beer, friendly and good humoured staff. One if my absolute favourites in a unique village.

2nd visit to shoulder of mutton and as good as the first time room, food of a very high standard and the owners are very friendly and helpful could not ask for any more. Very oldie worldly building with a fantastic view. The locals at the pub are as friendly as the staff and will do everything possible to make your stay one to remember.

Lovely friendly staff nice clean room. Food excellent we had the rib-eyed steak and slow cooked lamb curry. Breakfast was very nice. Will definitely be going back.

Had overnight stay in the area and came across this pub by chance. It was a hidden gem. The staff were friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. We ended up having both lunch and dinner. As well as enjoying the football. The food was delicious and home cooked. Lots of lovely flavoured guns to try. The prices were very reasonable. Would visit again with no hesitation and even stay over. Ian and Tracey from Preston xx

Called in tonight for a quick bite, I had cod and chips with mushy peas and malcolm had hunters chicken. Very good value for the money and it was very tasty and we both came away absolutely stuffed. It was lovely to have homemade chips with both meals. Thanks Matt and Kirsty.
