Shuffle Festival

About Shuffle Festival

Making thoughtful places for public use.

Shuffle Festival Description

Shuffle joins people together to create the kind of cities they want to live in. As an organisation, Shuffle works to build a more integrated community presence in the built and natural environment.

Shuffle Festival is an annual event in Mile End, which showcases these ideas. The week-long festivities involve film, science education, storytelling, performance art, architectural installations, walks, food, comedy and music. We aim to keep tickets affordable with the revenue providing funds for long-term neighbourhood projects.

Our aim is to make diverse and creative public places that are real community assets. We favour long-term thinking over the current dominant culture of development concerned only with the highest returns for the shareholders of large companies. This means that 'growth' is measured by the quality of places being built and the social impacts, rather than economic profit.

What an amazing festival. Really different to anything you have seen before. Can't wait until next year again!

User

Thoroughly immersive experience, a real assault on your senses! Loved the blend of film, music, arts and other entertainment. The set up in and amongst the old graveyard was fantastic. The only thing I would say is maybe try to use local suppliers such as East London Liqour Co, CRATE, and other businesses (you may have tried) so that it keeps things very "East London". Well done again, will definitely be back next year.

Only one week more to go ! Tick tock tick tock

My Brother the devil -Amazing film and Q&A with the cast and Danny Boyle. Thank you!

User

I love everything about it! The community spirit, the amazing venue, the diversity of acts/performances/events/food/drink but most of all the fabulous bunch of people who organise it and make sure it all runs smoothly. So much of it is voluntary and it just shows what can be achieved. I'm already looking forward to next year's Shuffle!

User

I live just down the road and always look forward to the Shuffle festival. It brings elements of fun and culture to what is overwhelmingly a residential neighbourhood. Looking forward to the next one.

User

Had a fantastic birthday evening watching Frankenstein under the stars on a rickety old park bench. Incredible adaptation. Danny Boyle, you are a genius.

User

Can't wait for it this year. In my old Manor. N graveyard.

User

A truly incredible experience! Great selection of quirky films, talks, music and workshops in the most surreal surroundings - absolutely amazing!
